Subscription based you are far better off to go get the actual calculator from HomeDepot

It’s not ok to charge someone for an app then change to a subscription based service without giving the option of using an offline version. I purchased the app years ago and have used it a few times but with the recent update it gives no option but to sign up to a subscription.

Can’t use app offline!

I’ve had this app for years, it works great to estimate materials, but the new update made it so if you’re not connected to internet, the app just closes. Un-usable from remote job sites! I have the old school calculator that I bought from Home Depot 10 years ago. Guess I’ll go back to that and delete this app. It’s a calculator! Why does it need internet connection to work?! Ridiculous.

Calculated Industries has the best construction calculators on the market. I’ve had their actual calculator for years (before smartphones), and got the app for convenience sake. Same experience with app as with the calculator. Customer service is top notch as well. They won’t leave you hanging if you have a problem.

Fantastic with one quibble

It’s a fantastic calculator for my needs and I use it constantly. That said, other calculators in the Calculated Industries family can switch their orientation to landscape mode (on the iPad), this one doesn’t. It only has the one position, not even the reverse portrait mode (which would be useful on all devices). It’s a really useful feature that should make its way to this calculator.
