READ BEFORE BUYING: BEST APP FOR NREMT

So I want to say I’m usually skeptical about apps claiming to have this and that and high passing rates blah blah blah. But MedicTests is different.

I heard about it through my local Fire Department and thought it would be worth a try. It is significantly more expensive than the app I was using to prepare for my NREMT prior. But it is worth every penny. They do offer a full refund if you do not pass your NREMT.

The questions are very similar to the NREMT. The app helps you identify and strengthen your weaknesses. It also keeps you engaged by having information as to why you got a question wrong. Additionally it has daily XP goals to help you feel like you’re actually doing something compared to just mindlessly answering questions and badges for this and that.

I downloaded this app a week before my NREMT test date. I saw it had a NREMT simulator and decided to try it. The actual test, the NREMT, is significantly easier than what you are taught and tested through in your EMT class. And the format of questions is very similar to the actual test. I highly recommend that you try this app. I passed NREMT first try.

My only wish is that this app had a “Question of the Day” like EMSPrep does. It just kept me coming back and I think this app could benefit from one. 5/5 Stars.

WOW! Thank you for going into such great detail about our program! Most of our competitors are just charging you for a couple hundred questions in a test bank! Not only do we have over 10,000 questions, but they are owned by 750 educational reference units where every line of the national ems education standards are laid out and organized linearly! In the tools section, you will find rapid-learning flashcards for medical math, ECG, and Symptom Blitz! M.A.C.K., the world's first conversational AI who is trained on 10 years of precision EMS education, is ready to talk through every aspect of emergency care with you! We have some new toys coming that will blow your mind! All that with a no-frills refund policy and ALL for less than 1/3 of the price of a textbook! Thank you for this wonderful review and for the excellent suggestion to add questions or scenarios of the day. We hear you and we're on it!

Good but limited content

Updated: I passed my rentry test after studying with this app, Pocket Prep, and Kaplan for only 5 days after not having thought about EMT standards for 20 years (when I first took the cognitive exam). I did ~3500 questions on this app in the five days. For what it’s worth, I am a WFR instructor but the standards are somewhat different. The repeated questions were still annoying and I think I would have gotten more out of the app if I didn’t see the same easy questions over and over. I switched to Pocket Prep for the last 24 hours because of this issue.

Original: The written instructional sections are easy to read and informative. The questions are useful, but are repeated so often that I wonder if I’m learning the content or just the question itself. I would I estimate I have answered a couple questions (correctly) close to 20 times. The same questions reappear in the content sections, the building strength tests, the weaknesses tests, and the NREMT simulator.

Congratulations on passing the test! There are over 10,000 questions available and it is still very possible to get the same question, because spaced repetition will help strengthen the neural pathways associated with answering the question correctly. We will definitely review the pathway for EMT and make sure that certain units aren't getting stuck! We are also adding more questions every week. Thank you for the detailed info! Great work slaying that dragon using all the tools available after such a long time away!

Very helpful.

I’ve used medic test for 3 days and so far I’ve learned a lot more and can remember more using this then other apps that I’ve tried. It’s easy to navigate, keeps great track of progress and literally gives you an option to work on weaknesses and pulls from categories that you struggle in instead of just a bunch of random questions. And the daily XP gain that you try to aim for helps out a lot on keeping track on a goal. It works well with me because I treat it like a video game and I aim to make a high score on every test I take. Even the focus on weakness tests.

I would highly recommend to try it out at least for a week to see if it also improves you test taking skills and knowledge like it has for me, and I’ve only used it for 3 days!

Also the price for each membership plan is fair and reasonable.

Thank you for the detailed review! Our goal has always been to create a platform that not only tracks your progress but helps you focus on those weak spots and makes the whole thing into a fun educational game, just like you mentioned. If you haven't had a chance, definitely check out the TOOLS section in the new dashboard! M.A.C.K. will help you learn anything EMS in great detail and help you with confidence and skills as your personal tutor during your stay with us! Also, we have a new Call Simulator where you can start a simulated EMS Career, and run calls all day to gain rank and experience! The next phase of the Call Simulator that is coming has real adaptive feedback from your responses that change the call itself! Thank you for joining our little tribe! CRUSH THAT TEST!
