Perfect App for Momentary Data Outside the Laboratory

This app is such an easy platform to use. I have no problems setting up surveys and assigning participants to receive them. I have used multiple settings within the app- from momentary questionnaires sent at random between specified times to repeating morning and night questionnaires every day for two weeks. You can adjust how long each survey is available to the participant, eliminating the possibility for the participant to backlog and submit their responses at their convenience. Overall, the platform is user-friendly, but whenever I run into any problems, I get a response from the team within 12 hours working me through my difficulty and always providing a recommendation to fix it. This company offers many features within the app, making it easy and a perfect fit for any research study or clinical use! It is also compatible with all phones and cell phone providers- which makes it much more accessible to everyone. This allows for accurate, momentary data that can be collected on the participant's cell phone. The results can be automatically uploaded, meaning that if the participant drops out of the study, you still have the data they have completed. I would recommend every researcher who desires to collect momentary data or responses outside of the laboratory setting use this app!

Designed for Researchers/Investigators

ILUMIVU is a mobile ecological momentary assessment application. This is helpful for clinicians who are conducting a study that requires frequent assessments at a certain moment. I have seen studies that discuss the superiority of momentary assessment applications over paper assessments which have the potential for recall bias. This is especially helpful for clinicians who are trying to assess a patient’s pain level after a certain procedure, or for clinicians who wish to assess a patient’s status where assessment at a specific time impacts the assessment outcome. This is mainly designed for researchers, as they offer personalized design for scheduling the assessment, and compiling the data in a format that would make it easier for investigators to plug the information in certain data processing programs such as SPSS.

I absolutely love the personal touch that the team behind the application boasts; they are incredibly easy to get in touch with and speak to. They make sure that they capture what you want and need to be done with their application per your project or research requirements. They give sound advise on which route is going to work best for you and your situation. I highly recommend this application, not only for its flexibility, but for the people who work behind the curtains as well! Very progressive!

So disappointing

This software is full of technical glitches that really influence the quality of your data and experience of your participants. We had to pause our study multiple times due to issues with the app/software/website. Some issues that the software has include system crashes, inconsistencies in data file download, change of units in questions asking about time, poor upload, and the app freezing. Customer service response time is OK but they never ACTUALLY solve your problem. The entire period working with this team was very disappointing.
