Messages Analytics is a private, local-first Mac app for understanding patterns in your Messages history. Choose the Messages folder on your Mac, refresh the local cache, and explore aggregate summaries for chats, people, and groups. Messages Analytics helps surface message counts, activity over time, shared item totals, conversation patterns, and analysis views without sending your Messages database to a developer server. Privacy is the product boundary: - The Messages database is opened read-only. - Raw message text is reduced to derived analytics and is not persisted by Messages Analytics. - The analytics cache stays on your Mac. - Contacts access is optional and used only to improve local display names and grouping. - iCloud user-state sync, when enabled, is limited to hidden-contact rules, person/group merge rules, and sync settings metadata. - Support information and exports are user-initiated and scoped to aggregate app state. Messages Analytics is built for people who want a clearer view of their own conversations while keeping the source data under their control.
