Very very good

I’m teaching myself HTML and Javascript using Mimo. I’m about 80% of my way through this path, and I have to say Mimo is brilliant. I had previously taught myself Java and the Spring framework using textbooks mostly and was successful in becoming certified in both. So I can compare Mimo to that kind of self-learning, and I have to say it’s really good. Of course I’m doing it with some extensive background knowledge, so I can’t speak as someone totally green. But for me, the bite-size chunks, the requirement to only spend a few moments each day, the convenience of being able do do it on my ipad without setting up an IDE or any other software, and the thoughtful and gentle way in which they lead me through the content... this really works well for me, and I feel like I am laying a very solid foundation for further study in which I probably will have to do something a little more rigorous. What I think is most valuable about Mimo is that is helps me take a very big step (learning a coding language) in such a way that I don’t feel tempted to quit at some point due to difficulty. By the way, so far I’m only doing the free version, and the ads are not intrusive at all. Thank you again Mimo!

I had to learn some basic coding because I work at a tech company, even though I’m not an engineer. I found this app after trying to take a coursera course and failing before I could even set it all up on my desktop. This app is ridiculously easy to use, so convenient, and seriously effective. I already knew a good amount of the material just by learning on the job, but it helped fill the gaps in my knowledge and was actually pleasant and fun to use. I’ve never been so impressed with an app, I actually ended up hooking up a payment method to my apple account so I could buy the pro version (goes without saying I’ve never bought a pro version of anything!). Much like Duolingo, this app takes a complex topic and breaks it down in easy to use, super mobile friendly bite sized lessons, perfect for literally anyone. I never leave reviews on apps, but I seriously can’t stress how cool this app is.

I don’t like the heart system

This app is one of the best coding apps I’ve ever used. The only problem is the heart system. When you make a mistake it takes one away. From my years of coding with blocks all I wanted to do was learn more about text based programming. But they force the premium deal by making you wait 4 HOURS UNTILL YOU CAN GET ANOTHER HEART. MISTAKES SHOULD BE A LEARNING EXPERIENCE. THIS HEART SYSTEM MAKES ME STRESSED WHENEVER IM TRYING TO LEARN. if any developer is reading this, please consider 3 of these ideas: number one just remove the heart system and replace it with maybe making the premium more fancy or add more features to premium to make people want to buy it more. Number two: keep the heart system but make the wait time to only one or two hours. This will keep people coming back to the app while still making premium look good. And finally number 3: make it so for every lesson you earn a heart depending on how fast you got awnsers right (I’m not suggesting to make a time limit on questions) or even maybe you have 10 hearts instead. Again, you have an amazing polished and well made learning app please don’t take these as commands but suggestions. Please reply and thnx for teaching me about python so far(I only got 3 lessons done because of the heart system). Have a good day.
