Description
miniDSP control App is a remote control App which allows remote control functionality of your miniDSP processor over Wifi. It allows basic remote control functions such as:
• Self discovery of minidsp products on the networks
• Source selection
• Master volume control
• Master mute
• Recall of preset (1-4)
• New Link Device feature: Duplicates setting changes to one or more linked device(s)
• Link History: Previously linked devices are saved in history tab for easy recall
• Dirac Live Bypass
Important Notes:
The Master Volume control function for PWR-ICE is available in firmware v3.2 or above. Please select "Remote Mode" radio button near the upper-right corner of the PWR-ICE plugin software (please use software version 1.4 or above) to enable this function. If the device firmware is v3.1 or below, please connect the device to the PWR-ICE2 plugin software and from the menu bar at the top, select "Restore" -> "Upgrade Firmware" to update the device firmware to v3.2 or above. Please consult firmware upgrade manual (included in software download package) for details of updating the firmware.

After all this time, app still rough
I guess it’s useful to switch between different presets, but the volume slider is basically useless from 0-80% and then extremely sensitive the rest of the way up to max. It needs to be a logarithmic curve like every useful digital volume control ever.
Not ready for prime time
The app loaded. Then it could see the minidsp2x4hd. It showed the IP. When i pressed on the device button, instead of going to the controls, the app just shows a forever spinning wheel and never enables the controls.
Does nothing. Embarrassment
Loaded, Home Screen is a scam Wi-Fi for devices screen that never finds my SHD. If I input IP address manually, immediately the Home Screen showing input selection, volume, etc. is covered by an error that index.html connection closed. OK is the only option, that returns to the empty scan/add new device screen.
As much as miniDSP charge for their single knobbed units that rely on a networked UI, this is embarrassing for them.
Apparently, the volumio app’s not much better. Nice… I thought we’d gotten past the days of having to use a laptop to drive the system.
