Description

This is the application for a parent's iPhone and enables you to manage your MMGuardian account directly from your own iPhone, rather than logging into the secure web portal from a computer.

Once installed, log in to this Parent App using the same admin email and password that you used when setting up your MMGuardian account.

Both your phone and other phones that are registered on your MMGuardian account must have a mobile data capability, as the application uses mobile data for commands, alerts and reports.

Note: The specific functions available to be managed and monitored by this app will depend on the type of child phones registered on your MMGuardian account. Specifically, if you child uses an iPhone, please refer to our app for a child's iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mmguardian-parental-control/id951476346

Good app but lacks in areas

This app seems to be very good on getting the info the parents need to keep their kids safe. Though I do wish the parents could get live updates when their child is sending a text, goes on the web or is downloading things onto their phones. Instead you have to go to device usage and ask for a report instead of just getting alerts. Is there some setting I am missing? Want to be able to monitor my child where I can catch it as it’s happening and not hours later.

Developer Response ,

Hello, all texts that children send and receive are scanned by MMGuardian's AI, and you'll receive an alert right away if any are detected as being potentially concerning. Otherwise, you can request message reports at any time to view the messages (unless your child has an iPhone, in which case, you'll need to wait until the phone is connected to your home WiFi due to Apple's restrictions). Thank you for your review!

Not reliable

A lot of text messages and Facebook messages are not showing up. Names of people are incorrect and listed under the wrong group texts. It’s all scrambled around. Also phone calls are not recorded on parent app. I’ve updated app on both devises and still doesn’t keep track. Web browser and app usage works fine. Also location tracking seems to work fine. We’ve been using the app for a few months. Appeared worth the price because it’s cheap but could potentially cause issues down the road. Might be switching to a more expensive app if the glitches aren’t fixed soon. If you’re trying to keep track of ALL of your child’s messages and phone calls then you will not be able to with this app.

Great app

We downloaded and purchased the upgrade after our preteen was caught sending inappropriate messages and photos to unknown people. (Police have investigated). I love being able to monitor texts messages when needed. Love the time limits and that I can set certain apps to not allow access during school hours. You do have to be careful as kids can disable it through the settings.

Developer Response ,

Glad to hear you love MMGuardian so much! Regarding children disabling it- that depends on your child's phone model. If they have an Android, they shouldn't be able to disable it at all, so please email support@mmguardian.com for instructions on locking the phone down if you believe they have. We aren't able to secure the app on iPhones quite as well due to Apple's restrictions, but if they do figure out how to disable it, you will receive an alert in your parent app right away. Thank you for your review!
