Moonbound turns your phone into a guide for observing the Moon through a telescope: point and it tells you what you're looking at, live.
Mount your phone to your telescope's eyepiece with a simple adapter, and Moonbound uses your camera to recognize lunar seas (maria) in real time, right on the live image; no guesswork, no atlas to cross-reference by hand.

Moonbound computes tonight's real moon phase, illumination, and moonrise/culmination/moonset from actual astronomical data, then recommends which lunar features are worth finding tonight, based on what's genuinely visible.

BUILT FOR BEGINNERS, GROUNDED IN REAL ASTRONOMY
No accounts, no subscriptions, no configuration. Moonbound works offline (location is optional, only used to show moonrise/set times) and recognizes 10 lunar maria, from Mare Crisium in the east to Oceanus Procellarum in the west, each trained to be identified directly, so even a single visible sea is enough for a confident match.
