Give your music library an archivist's precision. Recognise tracks by sound, complete tags and covers via MusicBrainz, and track down duplicate files.
MusicParser is a powerful macOS utility for music collectors and audiophiles who want to organise their local music library with precision. Scan folders of MP3 and other audio files, review
metadata, fix tags, and copy exactly the tracks you want to a destination folder — all in one streamlined workflow.
Organise Your Library
Scan source folders and browse your music collection by album. MusicParser groups tracks automatically and shows you at a glance which files are already present in your destination folder,
which are duplicates, and which need attention.
Edit Metadata Tags
Correct artist names, album titles, track numbers, release years, and genres directly inside the app. Edit a single track or update an entire album's header tags in one operation. Use bulk
find-and-replace — with optional regular expression support — to clean up album names or track titles across multiple files at once.
Smart File Copying with Conversion
Copy selected tracks to your destination folder with a single click. MusicParser can convert audio files to M4A during the copy process, embedding all metadata into the converted file
automatically.
Discogs Integration
Look up release information directly from Discogs. Populate album artist, year, genre, and other tags from the world's largest music database without leaving the app.
Duplicate Detection
MusicParser checks your destination folder and flags tracks that are already present, preventing unwanted duplicates. It also identifies duplicates within your source collection.
Built-in Audio Player
Preview any track before copying. Play/pause directly from the album view without switching to another application.
Powerful Rename Tools
- Rename filenames using customisable patterns with placeholders for artist, title, album, track number, year, and genre
- Bulk rename album names with live preview
- Bulk rename track titles using find-and-replace or regex
Multilingual
Full interface support for English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
Accessibility
Designed with VoiceOver and Dynamic Type support for an inclusive experience.
Requirements: macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
New: search by field in the search bar, for example "Album: Live in Rotterdam AND Artist: Led Zeppelin" (also with OR). MusicParser now checks whether the tags match what you hear and warns when a track doesn't fit its tags. Tracks AcoustID can't find are matched to a Recording ID one by one by title, artist and duration, straight from the waveform button on the album card; the release you pick is remembered. The comparison dialog shows for each track whether it belongs to the album and the current cover, and after Apply BPM and ReplayGain are determined automatically. Scanning the destination folder now shows progress (x / y) and includes all artists. The album card shows in orange or red how many tracks are already in the destination. Also: Enter and Escape work again in all dialogs, covers are saved at up to 1000 pixels, library data is kept after a restart, and the user guide has been refreshed in all languages.
