Convenient and Easy, one small bug
It's super simple to use this app; the interface is very intuitive and you can book a room with more ease than using their desktop website. Signing up for their My6 program and getting reduced room rates is also a major bonus. I'd recommend this app to anyone looking to reserve affordable lodging on-the-go.
Once I reserved a room, I did run into an issue while viewing my reservation in the menu; though I booked the room for two adults, the reservation displayed that there was only one adult. I was afraid that I mistakingly forgot to book for two people, as I know that affects rates, so I cancelled that reservation and made a new one and ran into that same issue. Through checking my emails, I found that it really was an issue with the app displaying the information incorrectly.
I'd happily give this app 5 stars once that bug is fixed.
Can’t cancel on the App
I wish the process of canceling a reservation was as smooth and easy as making it. When I try to cancel a booking before the Motel 6 policy time of 6pm, it tells me I am outside of the cancellation window and that I have to call either the property or the customer service number. It’s frustrating because I want to just push the cancel button and go, not sit on hold for 20 min for customer service. Calling the property is a hassle because if your phone doesn’t directly call from the app you have to cut and paste the number from the app to make the call. I hope this glitch gets fixed!
Great app, with only one small flaw.
The Motel 6 app is great, and has always worked with no issues. I do, however have one issue with using the application rather than booking online... On their website, you can check a box to inform them that you are traveling with a pet, while this is not an option on the app. If Motel 6 wasn’t so pet friendly, I would probably choose to splurge on a fancier brand, but I am very appreciative that they are. I just think that forewarning the staff that you will have your dog with you may prove beneficial. I can’t fault the app and give five stars, but just wanted to throw that out there.
