Mycosystem is an application designed to help foragers and mycologists track their findings. Completely free to download, Mycosystem includes a digital field log, fungi hotspot map, and a foraging quality scorer that dynamically adapts to the local rainfall, temperatures, and humidity of your surroundings. This application is a project born from necessity. I, the developer, have a passion for fungi. However; after years of overloading my notes app with random pictures of mushrooms, I sought out for a better solution. So I scoured the app store, but most of the products I found opted mostly for AI identification, with no room for user involvement. I have a problem with this, not only have I found these AI identifiers to be unreliable, I feel that the experience of researching local species, and learning how to identify fungi, is far more rewarding than any quick fix can be. If you are like me, I urge you to try out Mycosystem, a simple yet helpful foraging assistant.
