Description
Controlling infectious disease is essential for farmers looking to have healthy profitable livestock. For too long, the emphasis has been placed on testing for infection and then attempting to control disease after it has taken hold. But there is another way!
Predict and Prevent The risk of disease entering or spreading through a herd can be assessed and traffic-light scored using disease-specific questionnaires. Combined with recent surveillance results, the future prevalence of disease may also be predicted. Once you have identified where the key risks lie, you can decide on an appropriate control strategy.
With the myhealthyherd.com app, vets can carry out risk assessments for all key diseases for all their clients’ herds, link to latest surveillance results and record the control strategy for managing disease, right down to individual tasks the farmer plans to carry out. And all of this can be done on-farm, with or without wi-fi, using your phone or tablet. No more pieces of paper or double data entry!
