Extremely Helpful, but inferior to the website

This app has been enormously helpful for boat watching whenever I’m in the Duluth area. It’s definitely better than other ship tracking apps in the fact that, unlike the others I have tried, this one is completely free. One (MarineTraffic) requires you to pay to even see all the information about a ship (which, I might add, you can just search up online). It’s a bit of a scam unless you only want to use it for tracking ships.

HOWEVER, there is something I don’t understand. This app, although it works well, is far behind the website version, which is better. If this app were updated to be like the website, it would be great.

It’s been 5 years since the last developer update, so chances are this won’t happen, but I hope it will

This update just is not good

You have GOT to be kidding with this update, right? You took away literally EVERYTHING that made the old app great, you eliminated ship picture.

I’m adjusting my review slightly. It seems like you didn’t put key features behind a paywall; it’s just that you got rid of all the stuff that made your app great to begin with. When I used to click on the Arthur M. Anderson or the Edward L. Ryerson, I’d get a picture and details. Now when I click on them in my fleet, literally nothing happens. It’s a non responsive button!

I do feel bad about being hard on you, because I think it’s clear that you genuinely want to make a good app. You’re not a villain, you’re not trying to force us into a subscription or exorbitant fees or anything like that. But here’s the thing: you already HAD a 5-star app. You had already achieved greatness, and for some reason, you decided to change it. What’s done in error can always be undone, my friend, so hopefully you won’t be too proud to really look long and hard at all the functionality this update has taken away and consider reversing course.

Good start needs improvemenr

Requires a center button to center the map as per your location.
Compared to other ship tracking apps shows very few ships might be due to AIS vs satellite signal.
It's a good start will have to wait and see how the app develops.
