Notes are ordinary text files on your device. Every version is kept, so you can always go back; and nothing is ever uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
No-Cloud Notes is a plain-text notepad that keeps everything on your device.
There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no sync. The app makes
no network connections at all — not for analytics, not for crash reports, not
for anything. Your writing leaves the device only when you deliberately export
it.
NOTHING IS EVER LOST
Most notes apps give you one copy of a note: whatever it looked like the last
time you touched it. This one keeps every version.
• The app saves as you type, and turns each editing session into a version you
can return to
• Open the history of any note to see what changed, when, and by how much
• Compare any two versions line by line
• Restoring an old version does not throw away the current one — the restore is
added to the history, so it can itself be undone
• Name a version to keep it permanently, like a bookmark in the note's past
• Deleted notes go to the trash with their full history and stay there for
weeks, not seconds
YOUR FILES STAY YOURS
Notes are saved as ordinary .txt and .md files in a folder you can open in the
Files app. Copy them, move them, back them up, or open them in another app —
nothing is locked inside a private database.
Edit a note somewhere else and No-Cloud Notes notices when you come back, and
records that change as a version too. Delete a file by accident and the note
lands in the trash instead of vanishing.
A REAL EDITOR
• Line numbers, and a highlight on the line you are working on
• Tabs, so several notes stay open at once
• Find and replace, with match highlighting, whole word, and regular expressions
• Go to line
• Live count of lines, words and characters, and the cursor position
• Word wrap on or off — off gives you a horizontally scrolling editor
• A keyboard bar with Tab, arrow keys, and the punctuation iOS buries
• Light and dark themes, and adjustable text size
• Face ID lock, if you want one
• On iPad, a permanent sidebar alongside the editor
PLAIN TEXT, MEANT LITERALLY
Quotes stay straight. Hyphens stay hyphens. Nothing is autocorrected into
typography you did not ask for. What you type is what is saved.
