■ NowPlaying Albums
Remember when listening to music meant immersing yourself in a complete album, experiencing each track as part of an artist’s larger vision? NowPlaying’s new Albums feature brings that experience back, reimagining how we engage with music in the streaming era.

While playlists and algorithms have their place, they’ve fundamentally changed how we consume music. NowPlaying Albums takes a bold stance by focusing exclusively on albums, encouraging listeners to explore music as complete works rather than isolated tracks. This approach isn’t just about nostalgia – it’s about experiencing music the way artists intended.

After launching this as a core feature for the Apple TV app, we realized this experience is more important to us than ever. We truly believe that Albums deserve to be the main focus again and are happy to now bring this experience to Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad.

We present you an album based on your listening history & library, selections from Rolling Stone’s prestigious Top 500 list, previous featured albums and some other secrets recommendation variables. You’ll discover great new albums, re-discover forgotten albums and the only options you have is to play or skip them.

It’s like having a knowledgeable friend suggesting your next listening session.

This app needs to be fixed

Every time I search for a song just before it finds this song or right after it finds a song or write as it finds this song, it will brighten the screen up to all the way up brightness and I have my brightness really low if not all the way down to zero because this is a bug that you need to fix and my auto brightness on my phone is off so it’s clearly an option in the app that’s turned off by the fall and you can’t turn it off or it’s a bug because this is insane it should be happening. This has never happened before this needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I’m serious it’s very annoying and I am getting really fed up with this app because it hasn’t done this before you need to fix this bug.

Nice app.

If you are looking for the ‘behind the scenes’ info about a track or artist that Shazam lacks, you probably would enjoy this app. The developer is responsive and actively maintaining/improving the app. Another gem of this app is the Display feature, especially on an iPad and optionally mirroring to an Apple TV. This is quite nice if you listen to Internet radio streams that don’t have metadata, as it provides continuously updated track/artist info of what is currently playing.

What am I missing here?

This app has one main purpose as I see it, and that is to improve the display of the song currently playing on your device. Only… that’s not what it does. Sure, you can start up the app and choose Now Playing and see a pretty cool view of the song that is now playing. But when the song changes, this app doesn’t seem to be aware that a different song is “now playing.” You have to terminate this app and restart it so that the currently playing song is shown onscreen. I know this can’t be the intended design so is this maybe a bug? Whatever it is I hope it’s fixed right quick because the app in its current state is useless.

Incidentally this issue is present for every device I’ve tried so far, from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV.

Developer Response ,

Hi,

This seems to be a bug indeed! Not sure what can cause it, but I will investigate it! Have you tried using the SongDisplay feature with the Mic. instead?

Thanks for letting me know
