「NPO法人・生活の発見会」は社交不安障害・強迫性障害・パニック障害などの問題を抱える参加者が森田療法の理論をもとに回復を支え合う自助グループです。通常月に1度開催される「定例地区集談会」と呼ばれるミーティングの場を全国約130カ所に設けています。1970年に活動を開始し，1998年には長年のメンタルヘルス活動への貢献により「保健文化賞」（主催：第一生命保険株式会社，後援：厚生労働省）を受賞した歴史と実績のあるメンタルヘルスの自助グループです。
