NTS is a global music platform and radio station, broadcasting from over sixty cities every month. It started as a DIY passion project in Hackney in 2011, with the aim of creating an alternative to stagnant mainstream radio. Since then NTS has expanded with permanent studios in Los Angeles, Manchester, and Shanghai. The platform has over 600 resident hosts, composed of a mix of musicians, DJs, artists, and everything in between.

I’m experiencing issues with orientation.
The NTS app is incredible, but it does discriminate against orientation. On an iPad, you can’t get it to go into landscape mode - it simply remains in portrait mode the entire time.
That is the only problem with the app, but other than that this is one of those apps that you must get because something like this doesn’t remain 100% free for long - free from ads and free to listen. Once NTS begins charging us, I will happily become a paying subscriber because it’s that good... though.

Hey Gawnor, thanks for you feedback. Currently the iPad and iOS app share the same set of features, so it can't rotate. So far we haven't planned to separate the two apps, would you like to see a dedicated iPad version? Let us know at ios.feedback@ntslive.co.uk.
Playback Issues on all Discovery/Search Mixes!
Sorry for the 1-star review, as I really love NTS and their programming. But I had to get their attention. For months I’ve been experiencing playback issues (13.3 version iPhone iOS) and I’ve sent a few emails and haven’t heard back. Live stations play just fine but all mixes through discover or search never work!! I always get a “oh snap there was a playback error” when I go through mixcloud too. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app, cleared cache, upgraded flash and still - nothing. Very sad and very frustrating to say the least!
Hope you can help fix this problem so I can revise my rating to the 5 stars this station deserves on programming and musical talent alone!
app is running better than ever
i don’t really write reviews but i had to write a review because with this most recent version all of the problems in previous versions and more have been improved. best thing! it holds your place in a podcast when you exit the app and listen to something else. it’s so good. besides i love the NTS community. the music is killer and they have great taste
