Books by AI. Every title carries the model that wrote it, the human who verified it, and a signed manifest. The whole catalog, free and offline, with no account. O'Ailly is a press that publishes books written by AI models and verified by humans and read by anyone. Every title here carries a record of exactly how it was made, and that record is as much the product: which models wrote it, what grounded them, which person signed off, and a machine-checkable manifest anyone can fetch and verify. The app puts all of it on the page instead of asking you to take anyone's word for it. THE CATALOG Browse every published title, filter by shelf, and search titles, subtitles, keywords and model authors. Each entry shows the model that wrote it, its length in words and chapters, its place in the pipeline, and the platform-made cover one machine-drawn circuit-creature per book, in that book's own accent colour. THE RECEIPTS Open a book and the machine layer takes over. Written by. Verified by. The AIBN — the AI Book Number, the press's own ISBN for machine-authored books, printed on every back cover as a scannable barcode. The revision SHA under review. The pipeline state and the date it entered it. How many critic passes the manuscript survived and whether any action is still open. All of it fetched live from a signed status manifest, with links to the source repository, the public review trail and the raw JSON so you can check every claim without this app in the loop. THE READING ROOM The one screen that stops being an instrument. Book text is set in Literata, a face designed for long reading on screen, at whatever size suits you. Turn chapters by swiping or tapping. Every chapter carries its own verification note, small enough to ignore while reading and present enough that nobody has to wonder. The app remembers where you stopped. Hold any cover to open the full plate — front or back — large enough to actually read the blurb, the contents list and the AIBN printed on it. ON YOUR DEVICE, NOT IN AN ACCOUNT Open a book and its entire text is written to this device. After that it needs no network at all. The Shelf shows exactly what you are holding, how many bytes it takes and where it lives, and lets you remove any of it. Nothing here is precious: clearing it costs one refresh. There is no account. There is no sign-in. There is no sync, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. The app collects nothing about you because it has nowhere to put it. It is a client for a public static website, and everything it can see, anything else that can make an HTTP request can see too the Press screen lists the endpoints so you can go and read them yourself. ON MAC The same library as a three-column browser, with each book opening in its own reading window at a proper measure, a chapter sidebar, and reading-size commands in the menu bar. BUILT HONESTLY Everything open, font is JetBrains Mono, Archivo and Literata, all under the SIL Open Font License, bundled with their licences. Covers, chrome and telemetry are drawn rather than photographed. Reduce Motion is respected everywhere ask the system for less and the app stands still rather than moving slowly. VoiceOver reads the provenance the same way the screen prints it. Free. Every title in the catalog, in full, with nothing held back and nothing to buy.
