OhmsGrid is an 8x8 clip-based groovebox built around on-device AI music generation. Tap an empty pad and a clip — a single-instrument stem — generates in seconds, locked to your project's key, tempo, and time signature, complementing whatever else is already playing in the row. Everything runs locally on your iPad: no cloud, no accounts, no subscription.
EIGHT INSTRUMENTS x EIGHT SCENES
Each column is an instrument — Drums, Bass, Lead, Melody, Pad, FX, Vocal, Perc — and each row is a scene you launch together. Build a loop, stack a groove, perform a full set.
ONE-TAP AI GENERATE — IN SECONDS
Tap an empty pad and OhmsGrid generates a clip that fits the row's style, the project's key and BPM, and a category-specific length. ACE-Step 1.5 inference runs on Apple Silicon via the MLX framework. The next likely pad pre-generates in the background while you work, so a typical fill-the-row session plays an instant clip on tap. Hold a pad to open the advanced prompt + style picker for full control.
CLIP-BASED PERFORMANCE
* 64 pads laid out as 8 instrument columns x 8 scenes.
* Trigger clips individually or launch full scenes with quantized, bar-synced timing.
* Per-column volume, pan, mute, solo, and sidechain ducking.
* Reverse, time-stretch (0.5x/1.5x/2x, pitch-kept or tape mode), and pitch-shift any clip.
MIDI CONTROLLERS
Connect a Novation Launchpad (Mini MK3 / X / Pro MK3 / MK2), an Akai APC40, or an Ableton Push 2 over USB. Pads light up to reflect clip state — loaded, playing, or generating. Generic MIDI keyboards trigger the grid via the standard 36-99 drum range.
PROFESSIONAL MIXER
Per-column gain, pan, mute, and solo, plus a master signal-scope view with real-time FFT visualization. Sidechain ducking on bass and pad columns by default.
ARRANGE & EXPORT
Sketch a song on a horizontal arrangement timeline, then export a full WAV mixdown or per-column stems.
REQUIREMENTS
* iPad with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer).
* Free storage for the optional ACE-Step model bundle, downloaded on first launch from ModelScope (with a Hugging Face mirror as fallback). Start making music immediately with the built-in preview engine before it finishes.
