The omnipod app has been a game changer for me! I love being able to manage the pump through my phone instead of carrying two phones around with me all the time. Love it! I’ve had no issues with malfunctioning pods or pod failures related to the app.I only have a couple of small complaints. First, I would love to be able to turn off Face ID. I’m the only person who handles my phone, which uses Face ID or passcode to open anyway! I really dislike that in the middle of the night if I need to use the app I have to either turn on the light so that it can see my face or press to deny using Face ID several times before it’ll let me enter my passcode. This should be an OPTIONAL feature of this app. Second, I really miss being able to record where my last pod sites were. It’s an absolute need for us diabetics so that we can rotate our sites appropriately! I’ve taken to noting where I’m putting my pod in my calendar app, but I hope a future update will allow us to record where our pod sites are.

i was so looking forward to the ios version of this app, but have been seriously underwhelmed and disappointed with it since getting it. besides the standard bugs and complaints about time consuming verification methods needed to open the app, losing the ability to keep track of pod sites has been disappointing. the fact that i need to tap the glucose area twice to get the keypad to show up is simply irritating, because taking us to a whole new page and not even making the page open with a number pads just feels like thoughtless design. i finally got switched over to the g7 after months of being without sensors thanks to insurance issues, only to find out that this app isn't compatible with the g7??? this app came addy the same time as g7 integration, if not AFTER, so why can't i use it with the g7??? it's beyond disappointing, but not at all surprising. the only thing keeping me with omnipod is the convenience of no tubing, but i honestly have been questioning if that's even worth the hassle at this point because omnipod continues to disappoint me time and time again. its clear that there is no input from users taken into consideration without massive complaint which feels disrespectful. do better, please

Many years ago when I first started using the Omnipod, I knew that one day I would be able to replace the PDM with an app on my phone, and that day arrived for me when I switched to the Omnipod 5. The app itself is very nice and easy to use. It has great features like automated mode versus manual basal programs, and the integration with Dexcom G6/G7 is really nice.My only criticisms are that the Omnipod has to be line of sight with the Dexcom sensor, and I wish that either Omnipod or Dexcom would put more advanced transmitter/receiver in their devices so that it was a little bit more forgiving than that, especially because I alternate arms for the Dexcom, which means that when I do that, the Omnipod can't find the Dexcom until I change the Omnipod and put it on the other side of my body.my other complaint is that if you lock your phone with the Omnipod app open, it then tries to authenticate through the lock screen, which I don't understand why it is trying to do that. Very often I put my phone down and later glance over and see an authentication pop-up from Omnipod on the lock screen. I wish it didn't do that.That being said, the app is wonderful, Omnipod 5 works great , and the integration with Dexcom G6/G7 is excellent. There's literally never been a better time in history for type one insulin independent diabetics to manage their diabetes.

I don’t think I have written a one star review in my life, I don’t usually bother, but as this is literally life and death, I don’t understand how Omnipod is not releasing an update for this app. I have used Dexcom and Omnipod together for several years, and they disconnected from one another once in a while, but I have followed every for this new app, and have changed my pod and sensor several times now, following every tiny instruction to get them to stay connected, but nope! No problem at all with the Dexcom 7 app and sensors, but this Omnipod app disconnects more often than not. Now I need to go back to the Dexcom 6 and argue with my insurance to get them to cover my old sensors again since they just covered these new sensors for me a few weeks ago. My pod is beeping at me constantly because the sensor keeps disconnecting (and they are both on the same side of the body, as instructed, within direct sight) and my Omnipod won’t correct for my highs at night because it’s “Searching for sensor.” I’m needing to do that myself during the day, which is ok, but why does this app exist if it’s only making everything worse, and even dangerous, for diabetics? Omnipod, either fix it or delete it.
