Description

Open Bridge is for adults ages 18+ to collect data for research studies.

The Open Bridge app lets you contribute data for research. It is used by many research organizations who study cognition.

If you choose to join a Open Bridge study, you will use the free app to complete activities on your phone on a pre-set schedule. The activities may resemble puzzles, or they may test your memory. The data collected from the activities help researchers learn more about cognition.

Your data will only be used for research. We will not collect your name through the app. This helps protect your identity.

Every research study is different, but most studies will take about 30-40 minutes each week and will last for different lengths of time. If you are already part of a Mobile Toolbox study, you can contact your Study Coordinator if you have questions about the study you have joined.

Sage Bionetworks, a non-profit research organization in the USA, developed the Open Bridge app. Washington University and Sage Bionetworks developed the activities on the app.

Open Bridge supports research studies. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Still Bugs

When doing picture sequence there is only room for 13 images on my iPhone SE screen. However there is a sliver of a 14th image that will not stay when I try to move into position that was demoed. Can’t move on.

Also when typing spelling words keyboard covers the screen so can’t see what I’m typing. I know I’d do better if I could see word - I’m very visual.

Maybe send an email when bugs are fixed so I can continue since it won’t let me skip and move on.

Bug

I am trying to do the exercise wherein one puts activities in the same order presented by the app (specifically, I’m trying to complete How to Spend a Day With a Friend). However, every time I complete the first few pictures (through ‘plant flowers’ or earlier), it stops me from doing anything further and goes back to demonstrating the activities to be ordered. After a half dozen tries I’m quite frustrated. Please fix!

Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry the experience is not working as expected. Phones with smaller screens sometimes have this behavior. We are working hard to address the issue.

Bug?

S as above, on the picture order test for spending a day with a dog, the soccer game won’t drag. It appears as a narrow white box rather than a picture. A couple of times I was able to drag it into the gap between two pictures as in the demonstration but it popped back up into the workspace. Then it froze in place.
