OpenMethod is for people who run a community class, a nonprofit session, or a hands-on workshop. The goal stays the same. The way through it does not have to.
Break the activity into steps: observe, prepare, operate, present. Each step keeps its tools, an estimated time, and the moment a guide needs to be nearby. Participants choose how they take part — seated work, large type, a diagram, or extra preparation time. Those choices sit on the route. OpenMethod does not ask for health information, diagnoses, or names.
When a step does not fit a route, it is marked. Clear it by changing the tool, splitting the step, or rewriting the card. A flag stays until one of those changes is saved. You can keep more than one route for the same activity and compare them on preparation time and shared tools. Guide time is shown in words, because it usually belongs to the step, not to the route. The pinch is two tables in the same wave calling for one person or one shared tool.
On the day, switch to the step card that matches the table. The card border follows the route, so color, icon, and name stay together. Start a timer, note when someone waited for a guide, and stamp what actually happened. If the timer is still at zero, the stamp records the estimate.
Afterward, anonymous notes and stamped passes show which steps need another design. Open a rewrite and go straight back to that step. Save a reusable scheme when the steps and routes are worth keeping. Tables, stamped times, and notes stay with the session. Steps, routes, guides, materials, and tool photos come along.
What you can keep in one place:
• Activities, steps, and more than one route
• Tables, waves, and a lane check before the room fills
• Guides and a material list
• Tool photos you choose and have the rights to show
• A shareable pack of the plan
OpenMethod stays on this phone. There is no account. Notes are anonymous. Nothing is sent unless you share the pack yourself.
Sample workshops are already on the table, including a print session, an herb-tray afternoon, and a mural scheme. Rewrite them, or start from an empty activity.
