FINALLY!

Waited a long time . . . FINALLY DARK MODE MAC! (And hopefully DARK MODE IOS coming shortly. ) When I first saw Opus One arrive on the scene several years ago it looked promising. Loved the basic idea and format, the font adjustments (so frequently absent in many time managers, to do etc.) I downloaded the free non-syncing version and would play with it from time to time. As I watched the development, I kept my finegers crossed. My deal breaker was on a large Mac screen it was BLINDING - like walking out to the Beach without Sun Glasses. Not everyone, of course uses Dark Mode but if you do, going back is almost impossible. There was no way I could use it frequently every day. Last week I happen to see an update that mentioned Dark Mode on Opus One and a quick inquiry to the developers indicated IOS was close behind. That was a deal maker for me - One week in - it's beautiful. The integration of Calendar sync & input, next to daily tasks with a full page for daily notes replaces my former practice of jumping between differnet programs to effectively do and see those things the way I prefer them presented. Opus One does it all in one place. There are little subtle things too like moving all uncompleted tasks forward which has always been a hastle with other organizers I have used. Notes on any subject, Master Tasks for developing, outlining your mission & goals all in such an attractive binder form allowed me to commit to the only subscription sofware i own.

Developer Response ,

Opus One is Fantastic!

Opus One is unlike any other app in the productivity category. What makes it completely unique is its emphasis on life leadership rather than just project or task management. If all you’re looking for is a simple way to list your things to do, there are many lighter programs to accomplish that. But if you want a comprehensive program that does a deep dive into exploring and connecting how your life mission and personal values determine your goals and projects, and how those help to create life balance, positive motivation, and steady progress toward life success, this is the only program I have ever seen that accomplishes all that.

The structure is similar to a very popular paper organizer that includes tabs for the most important aspects of an organized life. Starting with defining mission and values, Opus One walks you through the process, step-by-step with great tutorials, so that by the time you’re finished, you have identified what’s most important to you in the various roles you play, how you want to express that through projects and goals, and how to break those down using a weekly “compass” and daily to-do’s to keep you on track to achieving a sane, balanced life.

A very reasonable yearly subscription is required to access all the features I mention above, but one fee opens the app on all devices and I have found its value in terms of increased focus and productivity well worth the price.

A Digital "Paper Planner" You Can't Leave Behind

I have always loved the idea of staying organized with a paper planner, but didn't like having to remember to bring one more thing with me when I leave the house, and frankly, a paper planner can get lost--where it doesn't help you at all. This is visually EXACTLY the same as a paper planner with so many more wonderful features-such as the ability to search through the entire book (all dates) for one name or one phrase to find a note that you left yourself months ago on a particular topic. It syncs between computers as well as to the iPhone, so all info is up to date. I mostly use the desktop version on my big Mac and keep it open in the corner so I have a blank page each day to record notes about what I am working on, phone numbers, lists of things, etc. This is a DREAM app. Totally worth the annual subscription fee. I don't use all the priortiy ordering and other features yet--maybe someday. But even the basic functions are so useful it gives me hope for my crazy busy world in which I own several small companies and need ONE place to keep all things organized. Thank you for this app! I hope you continue to add features and keep it updated!
