What’s New
Version 2.5
This update is all about making it faster to start or resume tracking time across different projects with the new Quick Switch feature. We’ve also recently added two of our most requested features: interactive widgets and invoice CSV export.
QUICK SWITCH/QUICK START
The Orbit menu bar item now lets you start, resume, or switch timers for different tasks. Already have a timer running? Use Quick Switch to resume a previous timer from earlier in the day. Wrapping up work from the day before? Quick Start lets you start a timer based on yesterday’s tasks. Picking up something from earlier in the week? Use the menu bar item to start tracking time toward any task from the past seven days.
INTERACTIVE WIDGETS
You can now start or stop a time entry right from your Desktop. Need to log a new entry? Just click the button in the widget without having to open the app.
CSV EXPORT
Exporting invoices is now a breeze. Choose a custom time range, the past calendar year, or export everything at once. Perfect for tax time or bookkeeping.
Ratings and Reviews
Pretty good
I'm moving from another time tracking app (which I liked, but which wasn't as compatible with Big Sur). So far my only complaint is that I'd like time sessions to round to the nearest quarter hour (or at least have the ability to set that as an option). I haven't invoiced anyone yet, which is the main reason I need a time-tracking app, but it APPEARS to be Ok. I'd like to just be able to say "generate an invoice for Client X since the last bill" without manually adding time entries.
For Professional & Personal Use
After going through the free trial period, it was clear my small business needed Orbit. I was actually excited to pay for the yearly subscription.
But I wanted to point out that you can also gain a LOT of insight by tracking personal time as well—such as R&D, Admin, Accounting. Then at the end of the year getting insights into where you spend most of your time is truly valuable.
Plus having it on my Apple Watch is absolutely a must.
