It has it all

I was heading to hike Ben Nevis in Scotland and was looking for an app to help me, particularly at the summit where offline maps is important give the unpredictable weather. I got this app (Pro+ subscription) thinking I would use it “just” for the hike, but is was so full of useful information about Fort William itself as well. For example, it showed me footpaths that I would have never known about (eg not on google) had it not been for Outdooractive. Now I am planning hikes in and around Zurich and - once again - find myself blown away by the detail available in this app to help me plan my trip. It helped me pick the best paths on mount Rigi based upon 3D rendition so now I can tell which paths will give me best vistas at the peak. Sure I could have googled for hours and read reviews from others, but I just visualized it in this app. This one is not leaving my phone.

Love it. Please don’t change much!

I came to this app from ViewRanger, and it’s basically everything I wish that app was. Outdooractive has a clean interface, no useless social media features clogging up the user experience, and has very reliable tracking. The app is also very performant and doesn’t feel bloated. I’ve yet to encounter any bugs.

So that’s why I say: please don’t change much. A dark mode option on the map would be nice. Other than that the app is great the way it is.

Doesn’t have my map I’ve used for 10 years

I’ve been with accuterra, neotreks, ViewRanger and now Outdooractive. I can’t understand where my simple topo map is that shows color coded land ownership (BLM, NF, Wilderness, state and private lands.)

ViewRanger was so simple to use, zoom in on an area you are headed to while in cell range and you could rely on it anywhere offline.

I understand your wanting to have a more in depth inclusive app. But it’s useless without the map I’ve used for 10 years and my waypoints. Is there a plan to fix this? Or should I move on. Also I emailed a month ago with these questions and zero response. But today I got an advertisement about a through hiker which is cool but it reminded how useless this app is to me.
