OXU Note is a zero-knowledge encrypted note-taking app built for anyone who wants their private thoughts to stay private — professionals, teams, and everyday users alike. Every note is encrypted on your device before it ever touches storage or the network. We can't read your notes, and neither can anyone else.
WHY OXU NOTE
Most note apps trust you to trust them. OXU Note removes that requirement — your notes are encrypted with keys that never leave your device, and our defining feature, Stealth Mode, means even the existence of your most sensitive notes can stay hidden.
HOW IT WORKS
• Encrypt on device — every note, title, and timestamp is encrypted locally before it's saved or synced.
• Sync securely — only encrypted ciphertext is uploaded to OXU Cloud. Nothing readable ever leaves your device.
• Decrypt on device — notes are decrypted locally only when you open them.
• Move to a new device — transfer your encryption key via a single-use QR code. No manual key entry, no cloud key backup.
KEY FEATURES
• Zero-knowledge encryption — keys are generated and stored only on your device.
• Stealth Mode — activate one or more hidden spaces, each unlocked by its own separate PIN. The lock screen looks identical no matter which PIN is entered, so no one can tell a hidden space exists.
• Instant note creation — tap + in any notebook and start writing immediately, no setup screens in the way.
• Rich note editor — Markdown-based formatting with live preview: headings, lists, checkboxes, code blocks, and links.
• Voice notes, built in — record audio directly from the editor toolbar and attach it to any note.
• Notebooks — organize notes into color-coded, emoji-tagged notebooks, with a Personal notebook ready from the start.
• Optional per-note PIN lock — lock individual notes independently of your app PIN.
• Cloud sync — your notes stay up to date across devices, encrypted the entire way.
• Recovery key — restore access to your account, or to a hidden space, without ever trusting a server with your keys.
• Built for transparency — our cryptography is documented publicly for review.
STEALTH MODE, EXPLAINED
Every user starts with a main space. From Settings, you can activate hidden spaces — each one a complete, independent workspace with its own notebooks, notes, and PIN. Enter your main PIN and you see your main space. Enter a hidden space's PIN and you see that space instead. There is one PIN-entry screen, no list, no toggle, no indication that more than one space exists. What you choose to keep hidden stays hidden — even from someone holding your unlocked phone.

OXU Note is built so that privacy isn't a setting you turn on — it's the architecture. Encryption happens before anything leaves your device, so your notes remain unreadable to anyone but you, even in the event of a server breach or a lost device.
