PaintBack helps miniature and model painters calculate what to add to a mix that’s already on the bench—then keep the amounts you actually used. You already know your paints and how you measure (grams or drops). PaintBack turns those known quantities into a clear addition plan, records what you pour, and saves the real result so you can remake a batch later. WHAT IT DOES • Adjust a mix you already started — enter current amounts and a target ratio; get the smallest feasible additions (or a fixed final total when possible) • Make a fresh batch from a saved ratio — scale to the total you need • Record actual additions as you mix — if you pour more than planned, the next steps update • See when a target is not reachable by adding paint alone — no negative “remove paint” suggestions • Save actual recipes as versions — remake later in grams or drops (units stay separate) • Optional wet/dry trial notes and photos — documentation only, not color measurement • Export a recipe card PDF and back up your local records HOW A TYPICAL SESSION WORKS Choose Adjust a Mix or Make a Batch Pick grams or drops for that session Enter what you already have and the ratio you want Review the plan, then confirm each physical addition Save the actual result as a recipe and export or remake when you need more PaintBack calculates quantity ratios from your inputs. It does not predict, match, or guarantee a mixed color. Lighting, primer, coats, and paint batches still matter at the bench. Works offline. No account required for the core workflow. Camera access is optional and only used if you attach a trial photo.
