START AS A GUEST Create jobs and save locally without creating an account. Keep separate jobs organized, enter costs or import a CSV, and decide which entries belong in your review. PREPARE ESTIMATES AND INVOICES Save estimate drafts, check exact totals and issue original PDFs. Create a customer invoice from an estimate revision, edit the draft and retain the issued original. Later changes use separate history and replacement documents. RECORD PAYMENTS YOU RECEIVED Record a payment manually and see the remaining invoice balance. Correct a mistaken entry with a retained reversal and reason. PaintMargin does not collect customer payments or verify that a payment settled. Reference-only imported invoices do not create active receivables. REVIEW COSTS AND FINANCIAL REPORTS Check entries marked Needs review. Inspect possible duplicates, different job names and dates outside the job period. Include or leave out each cost, with review history. Financial reports keep supplied job costs and direct-margin comparisons separate from customer invoice totals, recorded payments and outstanding balances. KEEP YOUR ORIGINALS Attach receipt images or PDFs to costs. Open original documents, export CSV/PDF reports and export saved jobs with available original files. Imported backups create separate reviewable copies; they do not silently overwrite existing work. UNDERSTAND THE LIMITS Direct job margin uses the revenue and included costs you supply. It excludes missing costs, overhead and taxes; it is not take-home income. Flags are questions to review, not proof of errors or money saved. Recorded payments are not bank verification. Reports describe supplied records, not accounting advice or advertising-platform analytics.
