Description

NOW share and sync your blood glucose readings with Apple Health. And import exercise and other health data from Apple Health and FitBit!

When paired with the POGO Automatic® blood glucose monitor, the Patterns app makes managing your diabetes even easier than using Pogo alone! Consider it your virtual assistant in tracking your blood glucose values over time.

In this version of Patterns, you can:

· Set upper and lower glucose limits, let’s call it a range. You can set up alerts that notify your loved ones of your location and if you are out of that range, having a low or high.

· Take a look at time you spent in range over time. Do you see any patterns (with Patterns)? Look for trends to see if there are small changes you can make to improve your glucose control.

· Set reminder notifications to check your glucose. You choose the time(s) of day that work for you.

· Add notes to your readings. Now you don’t have to remember what you ate yesterday for lunch. Patterns can do it for you. You can also add insulin dosing, carbs, and calories eaten.

· Create a summary report and send it to your loved ones and healthcare team. Expect kudos and a high five!

Working until update this morning.

Patterns was working ok for the last two months, sorta laggy at updating the database after a new test, but pretty functional.

I was new to the app, and other than the progress chart, I couldn’t find much utility for the rest of the features of the program, but perhaps I just didn’t understand the purpose.

I will say that the nag notifications admonishing me to take readings was a bit maddening since they aren't tied to when you do or don’t take your readings, but seemed to be random.

Today it said an update was needed, and wouldn’t do anything until after the update, so I updated the app.

Now it just attempts to open, but never gets past the splash screen. Not a good thing to roll out an apparently untested update.

I’m just glad the POGO blood sugar monitor is working, as I do like the device.

Doesn’t sync to Apple Health!!!

People bash Apple for having so many developer requirements, but this app is an example of why this is. It’s absolutely infuriating that this doesn’t sync with Apple Health. It’s a shame because the device is pretty decent. However if I’m manually entering the info to Apple Health, I might as well be using a dumb device.

The app is also overbearing and intrusive. There’s no option to use the app without an account. They nag you to change settings to always allow your location, and they want all kinds of other personal information. You can’t even use the app unless you state that you have some form/stage of diabetes. This all screams of privacy issues with absolutely zero user benefit since again, entering the data into Apple Health must be done manually.

That said, if you don’t use Apple Health (you should) and you’re the type of person who would say post your blood glucose levels daily on Facebook, then meh… you might be ok with this app despite also having laggy synchronization and useless feature bloat.

Notification and Schedule Improvements Needed

A <NOTIFICATION> message will be sent to your Email or SMS (both), depending on your (optional) choice for setting that should alert you when you missed a <SCHEDULE> will not sink or update after you change a scheduled time. Old <ALERTS> continue to notify you by Email or SMS. I receive messages to sink my schedule when I have already tested and by following the accurate instructions to make it happen, or <MANUALLY> sinking by pushing the "M" on the top (R) side of the device, unsuccessful. If you <DELETE> the app to reinstall it, you will lose all of your data. Nice app for use with the Pogo Pattern device, but several improvements are definitely needed by the developer. Otherwise, would have given it 5 Stars😊
