Authentically PILATES!
I have long been an advocate of Pilates, the authentic, classical PILATES. I have experienced a more fitness based form that can still call itself Pilates- but it is a different animal- no judgement intended. It just depends on what you’re looking for.
To my way of thinking, Classical Pilates represents an exercise form that supports our body in all the things we ask our bodies to do for us in the way of every day living or in any form of athletic endeavor ( swimming, golf, running, weight training , dance, the list is infinite). It supports the younger athlete and the aging body. It still amazes me how well designed this app is in terms of meeting the users wherever they are. Foundational information about Joseph Pilates intent and philosophy are there- in every instructors classical training and in the multi level format to instruct those new to Pilates, the more seasoned student, or the instructor level user.
If you take on a home based exercise program you are on your own in most instances. Pilatesology takes the level of safety, information, and variety of levels of expertise to a new level. Instructors are the best of the best and the demonstrations ( you watch the instructor take participants through the exercises pointing out technique and offering corrections) are superb. It is truly the next BEST thing to being in the room. Big fan here!
Wonderful for an old lady like me
I love Pilatesology. It’s a wonderful online Pilates site with so many options. Classes are easy to find and easy to follow at different levels. As an older member there are many things I appreciate. I can always find a class that fits into my day including time and difficulty, The best part of belonging to Pilatesology is that it really feels like a community. I appreciate the reminders that maybe I have been absent from the site for just too long and I should get back at it even for just 10 minutes. It is great to see those reminders and they stimulate me to get out my mat and find a class. I feel so much better when I do this. Additionally, I have learned so very much and my Physical therapist is particularly thankful for my ability to acknowledge my core and just where my pelvis is at the moment. I have to thank the great classes at Pilatesology for this. Thank you so very much
The OG of Pilates Online
Pilatesology is simply the best straightforward online service. Sure there are others but if you truly want what’s important you click on Pilatesology. There is no fluff, no fancy choreo, no extra nonsense. Pure pilates method - meaningful, purposeful and true to Joe.
You can call it classical but in essence it is what feels and works the best for me and for my students.
Pilates - doesn’t need anything extra, it’s absolutely perfect to begin with! Pilatesology has a selection of teachers that are able to articulate and bring to life the work providing useful guidance, fabulous and fun workouts plus historical views on the method. It’s all here and perfect for a pilates enthusiast or teacher. I stream on Roku, I watch on my Apple devices and I even listen when I’m not moving to learn and be inspired.
