Description

Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.

The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.

The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your device's music library, including your iTunes playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.

The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, set up speaker groups, or stream to all of them at once. Manage speaker groups for Spotify Connect, too.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.

Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

Play-Fi is a great app for streaming audio to high end equipment/speakers

I have 2 McIntosh RS100 speakers as a Sterio pair, and a Martin Logan Crescendo X powered speaker, as well as 3 McIntosh MB50 streaming units in 3 different stereo systems in my house. The Play-Fi app controls each speaker/system flawlessly and is operated from my Apple phone and separate Apple iPod Touch units which I bought for each room/system in my house as they make great remote controls, so that I do not have to use my Apple phone if I don’t have it in my pocket. Very convenient. Play-Fi has periodic updates for the app which continues to improve the app on a regular basis. I am and continue to be Very pleased with these high quality products/speakers which depend on the Play-Fi app for reliable control. Play-Fi app also has helpful suggestions and tips to help you in the set up process. I anticipate buying new products that use Play-Fi app control in the future as various high end audio companies hopefully will continue to offer new products to the market that incorporates the Play-Fi app.

Almost there!

Delighted to listen to radio through our fine old system. BUT...we have no need to switch between pool, gym. terrace, bedroom, and guest cottage. We would like a MUCH better interface—and while you’re at it—user guide, to get one started.

Our preferred stations—college and public radio—are not in your featured packages and were very hard to find and often, to find again. You should devise an easy click where we can stash these, which will pop up immediately when we bring up our system.

Latest Update With The New Interface Software

With the newest update, now when some of the single speakers volume level is changed (lowered or raised), it also changes the master volume level. It’s impossible to make a correction (raise or lower volume to balance a single speaker or stereo speakers) as it also changes the master volume.

The new look and feel of the app has had a vast improvement, but the update of the software to all my 9 Definitive Speakers took over 3 hours. It was a constant struggle having to place some the speakers off line, back online, take some off of stereo, erased all my original saved streaming setup, try to recognize speakers that weren’t recognized, had 2 different names speakers that responded to the same test speaker, unplugged numerous speakers and plugged back in to reset, etc. if you have an issue, just start from scratch and that might help. But now everything works ok… until the next update!
