Playlock

You pick what your kids watch

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Your child watches only the videos you picked, from YouTube links or your own Photos. Set a time or video limit, and only your PIN leads out of kid mode. Playlock is a video player that plays only the videos you chose. You build the library, and your child watches it: no autoplay, no recommendations, no search. YOU BUILD THE LIBRARY • Add videos from Photos, or paste a YouTube link and see a preview first • Share a video from YouTube, Safari or Photos straight to Playlock. Every add asks for your PIN • Reorder videos, or hide one without deleting it KID MODE • Big, colorful tiles with only your videos • When a video ends, the "Again!" screen offers more from your list and nothing else • The status bar and system gestures stay out of the way SESSION LIMITS • End kid mode after a set time, a number of videos, or whichever comes first • A video counts once it's watched for a minute or played to the end, so a quick peek doesn't use one up • When the limit is reached, your child sees "All done for now!" until you unlock • Force-quitting the app doesn't reset the session ONLY YOU CAN LEAVE KID MODE • Leaving takes a press-and-hold plus your PIN, Face ID or Touch ID • Playlock shows you how to turn on Guided Access, so the Home gesture goes nowhere ACTIVITY • Watch time per day, videos watched, sessions and the most watched videos, for today, the last 7 days or the last 30 days NO ACCOUNT, NOTHING COLLECTED • No sign-in, and Playlock collects no data. Your videos, PIN, settings and activity stay on your device • YouTube videos play in YouTube's own player, under YouTube's Terms of Service For iPhone and iPad, in English and Portuguese.
