Plunjr 4+

I had several smallish plumbing jobs I needed to complete or have completed. I didn’t want to necessarily hire a plumber, as I thought I might be able to do some of the work myself. I spoke with a Plunjr technician on the phone and with video. The experience was great! My Plunjr tech was able to first talk me through a couple of repairs, me taking notes and completing later-success!!; we then proceeded with a video consult for a slightly more complex issue - success again after I purchased the parts and installed them!! Last issue was a “parts” problem which I was not able to resolve on my own. I did receive in-person assistance with this problem -again with success. Throughout my interactions with my Plunjr technician, I was never made to feel uneducated or that I should have known how to do what I needed to do. My tech explained various aspects of plumbing and was a great teacher. Never condescending. I actually felt empowered from this experience- being able to fix things if shown or taught how to do so. So many times we call in an “expert” to do projects for us, when we might be able to complete the project ourselves with a bit of “expert” help. I highly recommend Plunjr if you want to try some plumbing jobs on your own with a bit of help. Plunjr also has great follow up via phone or text.

If you own your own home or have had to pay for plumbing repairs you know how hard it can be to make the call for a plumber when you think it is a small fix. Plunjr is the resolution to that problem! I have used the service twice and each time Aaron was able to help me fix my problem. The first time was a video call and the second time was just by phone. Each time I was able to show him the problem and he was able to give me the next steps to fixing it. The reason I needed the second call was because something else came up while I was fixing it the first time. I texted Aaron on the weekend and he texted me back. He was super gracious and really helpful. Each of these visits would have cost me at least $200, not including the parts. I’m going to be able to fix putting in a new toilet valve and fixing my toilet seat for about $25 total. Sure, it takes my time, but right now I have more of that than I do extra money laying around. There is no question that I will use plunjr even when it goes online and charges per call. This idea is golden.

I’ve been trying to find someone to tackle a medium-complexity plumbing job for a while, and despite on-site visits from two contractors, hadn’t yet found a solution. I reached out on Plunjr, and within minutes was talking to a knowledgeable and pleasant plumber, and had gotten more useful information, and farther along, than I had in months. A lot of that was the plumber himself of course (thanks Aaron!), but the app itself is great, and simple in the best way. First, no juggling calendars–you can schedule calls, but I was able to just hop on, we walked through the space and what needs to be done via video. Payment through the app is intuitive and easy, and integrates with Apple Pay.

Last time I had a contractor do work we were invoiced and got a carbon copy receipt–it was like being teleported back to the eighties. This is how it should be done in the Zoom era–waaay easier.
