BED/EQD2, multi-course sums, treatment schedules and plan-quality deviation checks in one app for radiation oncology. No network access. Every preset cites its source. PocketRT is a calculator for the physicians, medical physicists and radiation therapists who work in radiation oncology. It brings the calculations you repeat every day in treatment planning into one app, in a form where you can check the source of every number. ■ Biologically effective dose Computes BED and EQD2 from the dose and the number of fractions. The α/β ratio can be changed per tissue. ■ Fractionation conversion Specify either the number of fractions or the dose per fraction, and the app derives the dose for the alternative schedule. ■ Multi-course summation Sums BED and EQD2 across several courses. You choose one α/β for the tissue being evaluated, and every course is evaluated with it. This is a simple sum with no recovery factor, so it must not be used for re-irradiation planning. ■ Treatment schedule Derives the expected end date from the start date and the number of fractions, and shows a calendar that accounts for Japanese public holidays, weekends and individual break days. ■ Plan-quality deviation assessment For lung SBRT, assesses R100%, R50% and D2cm against PTV volume. For intracranial stereotactic irradiation (SRS/SRT), assesses the homogeneity index and the conformity index. You can also register and use your own institutional criteria. ■ Fractionation presets Includes the fractionation schedules stated in the JASTRO Radiotherapy Planning Guidelines 2024. Your own institutional protocols can be registered and recalled from the calculation, schedule and summation screens. ■ Sources are stated Every number the app uses can be traced from a single list, with each entry marked as either a primary publication or a guideline. When the basis of an assessment is not in a published protocol, the assessment screen says so at all times. ■ No network access Neither what you enter nor what the app computes ever leaves the device. No account is required, and no information identifying the user is collected. ――――――――――――――――――― [Before you use this app] This app is a calculation aid for healthcare professionals with specialist knowledge of radiation oncology. It is not a medical device, and it does not make diagnoses or determine treatment. Every result and every assessment must be verified by your own professional judgment. The output of this app is not intended to serve, on its own, as the basis of a clinical decision. The linear-quadratic model has a range of validity, and it is known to diverge from the observed biological effect particularly at large doses per fraction. Please use the app with its assumptions in mind.

PocketRT is now available in English. The interface, the source list and the disclaimers are all localized. Quotations from Japanese guidelines are kept in the original Japanese with an English rendering alongside, so that what the guideline actually says can still be checked. Fixed: the source for single-fraction SRS 20 Gy for brain metastasis was RTOG 90-05, which never used a 20 Gy dose level. It now cites JLGK0901.
