California is now fully supported. Enter a California ZIP to browse 154 native plants, 50 native bees, and 50 butterflies specific to your state, with nursery availability sourced from Annie's Annuals and regional nurseries. Texas users get the same depth across all 8 ecoregions, plus toxicity information for dogs and cats from the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. Ask Patch also has a new "How it works" button that explains what the tool does and connects you to local expert organizations: NPSOT chapters in Texas, CNPS chapters in California. If your ZIP is outside a supported state, a small banner lets you know what to expect. New users now get a starter question after setting up their first garden zone, so there is a clear place to begin.
