Editors’ Notes

A spinning cursor, an ambient soundtrack, and a polygonal shape. Who knew that’s all you’d need to create a mesmerizing game? In Polyforge, you tap to construct the outlines of increasingly complex shapes. It’s the kind of therapeutic game that lets you zone out while playing but pays off big-time when you finally complete a tricky stage.

I paid $0.99 to remove ads and that makes the game much more relaxing. This game has great graphics and beautiful sounds.
The last time I reviewed this app I slightly complained about having to hit play again after every mistake, and I'm glad to see you've changed that. Much better flow! Of course by this point I'm so used to it that when I mess up I get ready to hit "play again" still lol. I love the endless mode and the fact that sometimes you'll get a second chance. I'm also happy that it seems there are more diverse shapes now. An app developer that knows what they're doing!
I think it would be really nice to have different difficulty levels. Like for easy you could make a mistake without starting over, and then for expert mode the shooter could change speeds or the shape could shift. I enjoy this game a lot because it's simple and doesn't require much strategy so you can just relax while still being challenged.

One of my favorite games

I’ve been playing Polyforge now for a few years and am up to level 444. A simple concept, but as you advance to higher levels the game is more challenging. This, however, is what keeps me playing - the eye/hand coordination challenge. Despite this aspect, the colors, the background music, the spinning polygon, etc. all contribute to a mellow, relaxing experience. One aspect of the game occurs when you reach a game level ending in “0.” You get a main polygon surrounded by several smaller polygons! Very fun but very challenging! If I had to make two requests of the game developers, these would be to come up with new color combinations that have more contrast (some of the current combinations make it difficult to determine if a tiny segment has been “hit” already), and second, to offer different background music for a change.
