A spinning cursor, an ambient soundtrack, and a polygonal shape. Who knew that’s all you’d need to create a mesmerizing game? In Polyforge, you tap to construct the outlines of increasingly complex shapes. It’s the kind of therapeutic game that lets you zone out while playing but pays off big-time when you finally complete a tricky stage.
Challenging Game! Beautiful Simplicity!
Polyforge is one of my top favorite games. The developers were right - who knew that a simple game could be so addictive! And the added bonus is an improvement in your eye/hand coordination! I am 14 polygons away from getting to #300. Yes - it’s a challenging game, but I’ve discovered that you increase your likelihood of completing a polygon if you get into a Zen state, relax, and think positive. I just completed a polygon using the new multi-shooter feature! 😀
I have two suggestions for the developers. First, when doing new color combinations, it helps to create a good deal of contrast between the polygon colors and the color that appears on the perimeter after a successful “hit.” In the upper levels the polygons can have very small “pieces,” but with high contrast it makes it easier to see what parts of the perimeter remain to be marked. Second, I especially enjoy the games with the multiple polygons (currently appearing at levels ending in zero). It would be fun to have these also appear at random levels as well, or at levels ending in 5.
I paid $0.99 to remove ads and that makes the game much more relaxing. This game has great graphics and beautiful sounds.
The last time I reviewed this app I slightly complained about having to hit play again after every mistake, and I'm glad to see you've changed that. Much better flow! Of course by this point I'm so used to it that when I mess up I get ready to hit "play again" still lol. I love the endless mode and the fact that sometimes you'll get a second chance. I'm also happy that it seems there are more diverse shapes now. An app developer that knows what they're doing!
I think it would be really nice to have different difficulty levels. Like for easy you could make a mistake without starting over, and then for expert mode the shooter could change speeds or the shape could shift. I enjoy this game a lot because it's simple and doesn't require much strategy so you can just relax while still being challenged.
