Perfect

Absolutely nailed my prescription. A family member was having a hard time getting her prescription from her dr in order to buy a new set of glasses without setting up another pricey appointment - so I went digging around on other ways to get your prescription and stumbled upon this app. Tried it on my own glasses and it took a few minutes but came in perfect on my prescription for both eyes and pupillary distance measurement as well. An amazing free tool to have in your arsenal, and they don’t even force you to buy glasses from them - they list your prescription numbers right on screen once the measurements are done. Well done on one of coolest apps I’ve used, I might actually buy glasses from them when I need new ones just because I am so impressed.

Doesn’t work with large, hi-resolution monitor

Updated: changed rating from 1 star to 3. The problem was with my hi-res 32-inch 4K monitor, set to “larger size” text in the Macintosh display control panel. The app thought the browser window was too small when in fact it was large. By the time I made the browser window big enough so the app stopped complaining, it was so huge I had to hold my phone WAY back, and couldn’t hold my glasses half-way between.

When I switched to the MacBook’s built-in laptop display, it was fast and easy.

Original review: Spent 15 minutes, app simply didn’t work. First, it kept telling me to get the dots in the phone camera’s view even though they plainly were. Then it just couldn’t find my credit card even though I followed the instructions exactly. Finally got thru that, then a repeat of those failures as it tried to measure my glasses. After 20 minutes my arms were so tired from holding my glasses and moving them back and forth with no apparent progress I had to give up. Very frustrated.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! We are very sorry you felt frustrated with the app. Sometimes the camera is dirty and the app is not able to read the lenses. We suggest you to try it again by cleaning the camera and let us know if if works for you.

It just doesn't work. Period.

I wanted this to work. I really really did. But it just doesn't.
As with many other reviews, it's a good idea in theory with unsuccessful execution. Brand new iPhone 13. Perfectly 4k clear monitor with matte finish. Well lit area but no direct light on the glasses or screen with perfect sharp view of the dots through the lenses. And it still acts as if the phones not pointed at the screen. If it registers that the dots are there at all, it repeatedly asks you hold your glasses in front of them, then tells you it's blurry when it's literally as sharp as it can be.
Because it's asking you hold the phone and your glasses at arms length, you will hold your arms out starlight forward for nearly 20 minutes only for it to eventually say "try again" for the 50th time.
It is genuinely physically exhausting to use this app.
You'd need at least 1 tripod to do this with any sort of ease, and ideally 2 as even when both the phone and glasses are rock solid, it just doesn't know what it's looking at.
