Description

Wake up gently and gradually to the beautiful sounds of the Tibetan singing bowl

Progressive Alarm Clock will wake you up gently and gradually using the beautiful sounds of the Tibetan singing bowl. At the specified alarm time, the bells will begin to ring in a pre-defined pattern - starting out softly and slowly and gradually getting louder and more frequent. You'll come out of your slumber slowly and peacefully. No more being jolted awake.

+ After setting the alarm, the app can be put in the background - allowing you to use other apps. At the specified alarm time, the alarm pattern will begin.

+ Choose from five pre-defined patterns with varying bell schedules and escalation lengths.

+ Choose from six different bells of varying size and metal compositions - from bright and clean to deep and complex with lovely overtones.

+ You may enter journal notes upon awakening - great for recording your dreams before the memory fades. You can then go back and review your journal entries and you may export the journal via email. For privacy, you may set a password to prevent unauthorized access.

+ To save battery, you may lock your device's screen and the alarm will still work. Either start the alarm and press the lock (sleep) button, or turn on the "Auto-Lock" setting.

+ This app uses the same amazing bell sounds used in our Insight Timer meditation timer. Here are some app store comments pertaining to the bells:

One of the best apps I've ever bought

A lot of apps have problems from time to time. I've never had any problem with this app. I use it almost every day. I love that I can have three default time set, and that it goes off audibly even if the phone is on silent; not the same as turning the volume all the way down. It also has choices of a lot of tones.

Ultimately, I love waking up slowly and gently. I used to have a Zen alarm clock, which finally died after about 10 years. I replaced it with this app and love it. I'm a very deep sleeper, and if I have to be up by a very specific time, I just set the alarm ten minutes early. In the last few years, it's never taken more than 15 minutes to wake me up. I travel a lot for my job and have never missed a flight when I needed to be up early. It gently wakes me up no matter how tired I am.

Buggy but good

My original review said I wasn't going to use this app because I didn't trust it because there were crashing bugs when I tried to use certain settings on the options screen. (Since then I've also noticed that the app does not appear to have been updated in seven years, which I would guess means it's technically dead and will eventually stop working altogether. That's too bad.) The generally positive reviews have convinced me to overlook all that, however, and I've been using the app to wake me up for work for the better part of a week now and it has been great. The benefits of a gradual alarm without interruptions while I'm setting it up or nags to pay for a subscription to get features I neither want nor need (Sleep Cycle, which I used happily for about ten years now, has lately become guilty of both of these transgressions, causing me to look elsewhere for a gradual alarm clock app) is a fine thing. And as a regular meditator, I very much appreciate the singing bowl tones it uses to wake me up. Long may it continue to function!

Fine on iPhone terrible on iPad

26. May 2024.

I have used this app for a long time mostly on iPads. Of course it is also written to work on iPhones. The only issue that I have with the application is that the display on the iPad Pro 12.9 inch Gen 3 & Gen 5 is distorted with colored bands, going across all controls that make it very difficult to be able to read this is existed ever since the second generation of iPad pros were introduced so it's been close to four years now and this issue is not been resolved. I have contacted the developer, but I have not gotten any kind of response to my issues it's an extremely nice Alarm Clock application pleasant to wake up to gives you plenty of options on how it alarms and the tones that are used. The only negative is the display on iPad pros I wish that would be fixed so I'll recommend this app because it is fine on an iPhone, but I'll only rated at three stars until they fix the display
