What’s New

Version 110.4

Attention everyone,

In the version we have deployed to GitHub, we have identified critical issues that have led to the loss of keys. Rest assured, we are actively working on resolving this. Stay tuned for updates as we address this issue.

Numerous users have reported success with the previous version.
If you have used iCloud storage in the past, please select that again and you would be prompted to retype your master key and all of your keys should be imported.

We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, but please direct your concerns to contact@mobime.org so we can address each issue individually.

Best regards,

Shady practices for a security app is a huge red flag

My fault for not being in the loop about the sale of the app to some questionable company but even so, there should’ve been some sort of statement notifying users of the change and also of the paywall planned.
Not to mention the terrible QA effort that could’ve easily prevented this from happening, the lack of due diligence shows how much the company cares about the user base. Had been using this app for years, safe to say I’ll be moving to a different app. Lost all my codes as many others but was able to recover some thanks to an old backup on iCloud. Now I have the tedious task to change the OTPs on all the platforms (I used since I don’t trust the app anymore) while also trying to figure out what codes have been lost for good.
This app is now defunct and the money the company had “invested” in hopes to make profits by selling ransomware has now vanished in the wind

Now a paid open source app?

After the last update I was greeted by a paywall screen demanding $5/MO before I could access my 2FA tokens. Thankfully I was able to restore from backup, however you cannot add new entries now without paying. I’ll be switching to a new 2FA provider because making it seem like you need to pay to get crucial data back is a tactic used by ransomware developers not providers of services I want to support.

Update: New developer has stated they “fixed” the issue. Everything I originally stated is still true regardless of them rolling anything back. I was thankfully able to move all of my 2FA tokens to a legitimate app but it sickens me how many people may have payed the subscription (ransom) to get their critical data back. The real problem is the original open source dev who sold out his users to a company that would do this.

Developer Response ,

Dear user,

Please update to our latest version 110.3 where most of the issues have been resolved. For further assistance, we are available at your disposal at contact@mobime.org.
Kind regards,

Stay away. Untrustworthy. Better options available.

New owners released a build that wiped out all the codes that were stored in the app. The restore option required a password which luckily I had, others were not so fortunate Useful features are now behind a paywall At this point all trust has been lost. It took a few hours to migrated to another app and reset all my auth codes. Pure greed

Thanks for the response, but it’s too little too late. There is no going back, ever, you could not pay me to use it again.

Leaving users stranded without a crucial app to log into their account for an entire day is totally unacceptable.

Developer Response ,

Hello there,

The issue that occurred a couple of days ago was due to a problem with the storage containers. This issue has been completely fixed with the latest update. As you mentioned, if you had your keys backed up, you will be able to import them with 100% certainty.

We are still working around the clock to analyze everything that happened, so this can never occur in the future.

Please stay up to date with our latest versions as we are planning to release many amazing things for Raivo.

We apologize again for the inconvenience and hope to have you with us. For any other queries, we are always available at contac@mobime.org

Kind regards
