RecovR: Vehicle Theft Recovery 4+

I found this under a seat under a car I bought 6 months ago. I googled what it is, and then I thought the last owner must have left it. Should I trash it, I don’t want anybody tracking me? Then I find out I paid $500 without my knowledge. The dealership didn’t even tell me it was there!! What a crock everybody is making money for this stupid thing I don’t want!!!!! $500 for 3 years without even getting my permission!!!

I got salesmaned into letting the dealership leave this useless piece of junk in my car when I bought it, the assured me my insurance would give me a break when I told them I have it. That I would know where my car was at any time. How long it had been there and so on, the dealer assured me they use them on their cars in the lot as their own theft detomrant. However I have had this car for about 4 months and I think it has actually located my car once. In fact two months later it still thinks my car is parked there. To add insult to injury, I had a friend drop my car in long term parking at airport so when I got home from my flight I didn’t have to hassle with a cab or deal with an Uber, don’t worry about where you park it; I say. Assuming my theft recovery gps will find it when I need it. Turns out no, not only will it not find it when I contact customer service they literally say oh it will check in sooner or later, try doing a force locate. I finally find my car an hour later by pressing the panic button then walking 100 yards and trying again. I found my car before the GPS did. Oh and the last reported location? Ya right where it was parked…. Two months ago. No wonder my insurance refused any discount.

If I could give a negative I would !!! Doesn’t give correct location at all ..At my home it says everyday no matter what time of day that my car is 4 houses down . I’m going to look into filing a complaint with the attorney general of my state because this app clearly does not work and these car dealers force this junk upon you as if your getting protection which your not adding extra fees to the sale .. They must get a commission for selling this junk .. I have onstar and told the dealer I don’t need this and they con me into getting it .. I get a insurance discount for having onstar but nothing for this junk ,insurance companies don’t even know what this is …they charge you the flat fee at the dealer abd gee money upfront because they know this $&?! doesn’t work versus u paying monthly and option of cancellation.
