After reading the new privacy policy, I could not access the app. I tried over and over until I looked closer and realized there were check boxes that were lightand blended in with the background.

Junk refuse to let dealer sell it to yo

I got salesmaned into letting the dealership leave this useless piece of junk in my car when I bought it, the assured me my insurance would give me a break when I told them I have it. That I would know where my car was at any time. How long it had been there and so on, the dealer assured me they use them on their cars in the lot as their own theft detomrant. However I have had this car for about 4 months and I think it has actually located my car once. In fact two months later it still thinks my car is parked there. To add insult to injury, I had a friend drop my car in long term parking at airport so when I got home from my flight I didn’t have to hassle with a cab or deal with an Uber, don’t worry about where you park it; I say. Assuming my theft recovery gps will find it when I need it. Turns out no, not only will it not find it when I contact customer service they literally say oh it will check in sooner or later, try doing a force locate. I finally find my car an hour later by pressing the panic button then walking 100 yards and trying again. I found my car before the GPS did. Oh and the last reported location? Ya right where it was parked…. Two months ago. No wonder my insurance refused any discount.

Not helpful at all

This app and system was forced on me by Hyundai new car purchase as part of dealer add on that was not negotiable. 3 years “free”. I will not renew most likely as it is not accurate. When first set up and car is in my garage it “located” it on the street behind me. They have yet to respond to my email to customer service about the inaccuracy. Checked this morning (car is still in my garage) and it only shows a huge shaded circle saying car is located somewhere in this circle, which by my estimate is about 4 miles in diameter. So if my car was stolen and in a 4 mile diameter circle and in someone else’s garage, it would not be found.
Too bad Hyundai uses this service and charges so much up front for it.

Dear WBgolf, we apologize for the delay in responding to your concern. We have made huge advancements in location accuracy with the RecovR solution, so we encourage you to give it another try! The reason for the larger circle is that when you park inside a garage, the GPS no longer functions (it needs "line of sight"), but don't worry, WiFi hotspot sniffing and cell tower triangulation take over to help locate the vehicle, but these are less precise, which is why you see the larger circle. But that will become more precise the second the car is moved, and RecovR's customer support team has advanced tools to help locate your car if it's ever stolen and will proactively reach out to you if theft recovery mode is every activated in your app.

Also don't forget that with most dealers, you also receive a theft benefit with RecovR that would pay out up to $6000 in addition to your insurance if your car were to be stolen and not recovered.
