Blocking apps is the easy half. Reach for the feed mid-session and you get your own task back, with the next small step already broken down.
You already know what you should be doing. The trouble is that it's six taps away, and Instagram is one.
Most blockers put a grey wall in front of the app you reached for. A wall is an argument, and the wall usually loses, because what's behind it is easy and the work is not.
Redirect Loop shows you the next step instead. One physical action, small enough to start without deciding anything first. Open the file. Write one bad sentence. Copy out the line you're stuck on.
HOW IT WORKS
Name the one thing you've been putting off. Choose how long to go for, and which apps pull you in.
When you reach for one of them mid-session, you don't get a wall. You get your own task back, with its next step already broken down, and two buttons: Back to work, or I'm stuck.
"I'm stuck" is the point. It's the same tap as unlock, and the opposite psychology.
WHEN IT'S STILL TOO BIG
Ask for it smaller, and it gets smaller. Steps keep shrinking until they're something you can start without thinking about it, because the reason you're avoiding a thing is almost never the whole thing.
HOURS THAT KEEP THEMSELVES
Set the hours you want held. Any times, any days, or a one-off for a particular Saturday. They open and close on their own so you don't have to remember, and ending a session lifts everything until the next one begins.
A RECORD, NOT A SCOREBOARD
At the end you get sentences, not charts. What you actually did, in your own words.
It counts the times you reached for a blocked app and went back to work, because those are the wins. It never shows you what you failed to do.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
Blocking uses Apple's Screen Time. Your choices go through Apple's own picker and come back as tokens this app cannot read.
It cannot see which apps you blocked, or anything you do inside them. There's no account, no analytics and no advertising.
HONEST LIMITS
iOS grants Screen Time to one app at a time, so another blocker will stop this one working until you remove its access.
There are timed passes, on purpose. A blocker you can't get past is a blocker you delete instead.
