Red One is a multilingual search engine for manuscripts and rare books that have no Turkish or English translation. Upload a PDF or scanned page; if there is no text layer it is read with OCR/HTR, corrected line by line, and given a scholarly transliteration and IPA pronunciation.
SEARCH
• Exact and near-spelling matches (vowel marks, hamza, ya/kaf variants normalised automatically)
• Synonyms and near-synonyms: your query is expanded in the languages of the work (Ottoman Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Pashto, Urdu, Gorani, Latin, Ancient Greek, Hebrew, Syriac, Old Turkic…)
• Semantically related passages (multilingual embeddings)
DICTIONARY-STYLE RESULTS
• Headword: original script · transliteration (İA/DMG/ALA-LC) · IPA · Turkish/English gloss
• Every hit comes with its full sentence in three layers: original / transliteration / IPA
• Location: work, edition, printed page and line number (PDF page shown separately)
• Line highlighting on the page image
