Great money saver in debt
I was nervous to try this app out thinking it wouldn’t work out in my favor but it did. I have a good amount of debt so I tried a small account first. I paid the fee and 2-3 days later I received a message saying my amount was lowered by 60%. Was hoping I could just pay through relief but you have to go through the collections agency for payment options. That was my only downside to what I was hoping for. Definitely recommend using relief. Will continue to use for other debts.
This App could be a scam
Just so you know, you have to send a payment to them before they so call contact the creditors for a lower payment. So initially you could be paying them and you’re not going to get anything lowered or better payment options.
Mind you they never stated that the payment is non-refundable, all these details are in the app after you have signed up and made the payment. Nor can you close the account yourself, even though you’ve opened it. I haven’t did anything with this app other than sign up and I ended up agreeing with a payment of $225 just for them to initiate anything, there’s been no updates or anyone contacting me at all just $225 gone out of my account that apparently I can’t get back. On top of which when I tried to talk to customer service and ask them to close my account and to return my funds, I did this literally the following day after I signed up, they said I’ll have to wait to see if a creditor would contact me with lowering my debt and that if I don’t get an offer before 60 days then they will return my funds. So basically they’ve got another sucker. Don’t use this app unless you’ve thoroughly read about beforehand, and unfortunately there’s not much information on this app online other than the reviews in the App Store. That’s what I get for believing a TikTok ad. Unbelievable.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry for your frustration.
We charge a one-time upfront fee to initiate creditor contact. If no agreement is reached within 60 days, we automatically issue a full refund, which is explicitly outlined before purchase in the app.
The only time an account cannot be closed is while an offer is pending.
We’re always committed to improving communication with our users and would love a chance to discuss this with you further. Please email us at help@relief.app.
Thank you for being a valued customer!
Best regards,
The Relief Team
It actually works
Here is the thing, it does not work for all of my debts. I read that they are in the process of expanding to add on new creditors, and I’m looking forward to that. I was very pleased with the amount they were able to get from my creditors. If I had one major piece of feedback it is to let people know that the amount of money saved doesn’t depend on the app, it’s up to the creditors. This just makes it very easy to negotiate your balance down (which is very helpful). I would tell you that if you need help, try this app before doing it on your own.
