Description

Resistbot is the fastest, and easiest way to pressure your elected officials. This app allows activists and organizers to share popular campaigns with their contacts and drive instant change and impact. Each new signer to a Resistbot campaign means instant delivery of letters to their elected officials. Resistbot has delivered over 30 million letters to elected officials from Mayors to the President since 2017.

What is Resistbot?
Launched in 2017, Resistbot was a solution to the problem of busy phone lines in Congressional offices. By simply texting the word "resist" to 50409, concerned Americans could compose letters to Congress just by texting, bypassing crowded phone lines and full voicemail boxes. Resistbot has served over 9.1 million Americans, delivered 30 million letters, and can reach city Mayors, state legislators, Governors, the U.S. Congress, the President, and more.

Does it work?
A single Resistbot campaign started by a young activist in Tennessee was instrumental in bringing back the U.S. House in 2020 to stop the sabotage of the U.S. Postal Service. Another campaign started by college students in N.Y. state stopped police misconduct from being shielded from the public. Academic studies have also shown that Resistbot improved voter turnout as much as 1.8%. The more people engage with Resistbot, the likelier they are to further civically engage.

How do I start a new campaign?
Text "resist" to 50409 and write your letter to the officials you want, you'll be prompted to turn it into a campaign after you send it. Once you get your first few signatures from friends and family, it will appear on the Resistbot app.

Have you been reported on by the press?
Resistbot has been vetted by Snopes twice and proven to work. We've also been featured in Teen Vogue, Fast Company, GOOD, the Miami Herald, the Arizona Republic, Skimm, Romper, Lifehacker, Engadget, and more.

Any celebrity endorsements?
Billie Eilish tweeted and Instagrammed us to her followers before the 2020 election. Khloe Kardashian, Debra Messing, Alyssa Milano, Mark Ruffalo, Camila Cabello, and many others have shared us over the years to advocate for issues they cared about.

What about my data?
The Resistbot app doesn't upload your contacts anywhere, they stay on your device, and are only used to make it easier for you to invite them to the campaigns you care about. We have a user bill of rights too at resist.bot/rights.
