RetroChecker is the ultimate app for (retro) video game collectors. With a database of more than 39500 games spanning most game console platforms out there, RetroChecker allows you to get detailed information about the current value (boxed, loose or new), description, release history as well as tons of box arts and in-game screenshots.

RetroLens: This premium feature of RetroChecker allows to scan a whole shelf of games by taking a photo - Recognition rates up to 90% and high recognition speeds retrieve lot values for a 100 game collection in seconds. Spine scan mode uses OCR text recognition (Recognition quality varies between systems - works great for PAL PlayStation, PAL PS2, Atari 2600 loose games, PAL Master System, PAL Dreamcast, PSP and many more. A list of game names on a screenshot will also do). In addition, "Scan Cover" Mode can be used to identify a single game based on game label content, logos or key artwork.

Versatile tool: Use the real-time search to find all releases of a game across platforms, browse by a specific platform, genre, release date or value tier to find the games you are interested in within seconds. Access Youtube videos for every game with a single click.

Manage your own collection or inventory: Since RetroChecker knows the current average sales price for almost any loose / boxed game out there, it automatically calculates the value of your collection. With a single tap, you can easily add any number of loose or boxed games to your own collection. Further, you can bookmark games you are looking for to a favorites list.

World Ready: RetroChecker has a Settings page, too. Support for 7 currencies, works with all eBay sites world-wide, and integrates with your eBay app if installed. Also, many products can be looked up on Amazon.

RetroChecker is perfect for yard sales! Searching and price display can always work off-line, but if you have some data to spare, you can use RetroLens to assess the value of a 100 games lot in mere seconds.

Create a copy of your collection / favorite data, or move it onto another device: You can simply retrieve your data files in the iOS files application.

This App uses Google Cloud View, whenever the RetroLens Scanning function initiates. Only a single data call is placed per Scan and sent to the Google Cloud Vision system. It produces a singular response containing textual information that allows RetroChecker to match games against the submitted picture. No other Google technologies are implemented in the client.

We do absolutely no tracking: We will NOT collect any of your data (your favourites and collection items will never be sent to us). The only exceptions are the temporary logs on our web server when the app requests images or game detailed information. See our privacy policy for more details.

We have put all the love in the world into the creation of this app, and hope you will like this initial release. Please give us feedback!

What’s New

Version 1.42

FREE for a limited amount of time! Tons of cool new features in this release! Added a filter button to the Platform views that allows to reduce the Platform Game List to show only collected items. Added automatic horizontal scrolling for very long game titles. Added ability to enter "box-only" or "manual-only" items into the collection. Also integrated various other optimisations and runtime performance improvements (at the expense of a slightly slower initial start-up).

Has EVERYTHING, but the UI could use some work

I picked this app because it has everything I could want. EVERYTHING. But sometimes When I enter a sub screen, the menu disappears and I have to exit the app and re enter. Also, i feel like the UI is missing something. Needs more flare. I’d love to see more analytics on my collection.

One small change is like to see is the ability to hide prices in the list. Given the small amount of screen real estate and the length of most game titles this would be a big help.

Aside from that this is what these apps should be. A database I can select games from, not some stupid list app where I have to search for everything, like anyone can remember every game title ever released.

Game not listed

Can you add a feature where you can add a game not listed? As well as upload custom photos? Thanks
