Freedom from laundry
I hate doing laundry, in fact it’s the only household chore I truly despise. Dealing with dry cleaning was also a pain… until I found Rinse. I don’t know where they send their clothes to be cleaned (and I don’t care), for all I know it could be a fairy land, but all I know is that they come back looking great and with no effort on my part. The work I have to put into this is as basic as tossing my clothes into the very fancy Rinse bag (which is already. A natural thing anyway) and then grab that bag and toss it outside my front door. The really gruesome part of this process is having to press all those five virtual buttons on my phone to schedule the pick-up, truly an exhausting process! In case you couldn’t tell, I was joking, but the fact remains that compared with the Herculean task that laundry used to be, Rinse’s solution is a total breeze. Their valets come right to my front door to pick up the bag and then they drop off at a super convenient time , again right to my door. Their prices are fair and the app is well built, what more can I say if you aren’t sold on this yet?
Pricey, but good
I’ve been using Rinse for a few years, since my neighborhood dry cleaners shut down (pre-pandemic). I use them for dry cleaning, sewing buttons back on, sewing up tears, and laundering big bulky things that my little Bosch stacked washer/dryer can’t handle. And for everything else when my washing machine is on the fritz. The app works flawlessly and I’ve never had a problem with any courier or item of clothing. I give a $5 tip when they pick up and when they drop off, so that makes the whole venture even pricier for me, but it’s worth it. They also have a special-handling service for stain removal but they’ve never been able to remove any of the stains I’ve sent them after trying to remove the stains myself. One time I thought I had given them a garment and they didn’t return it. They gave me a credit. Then I found the garment a few days later and made them reverse the credit. Great service overall.
Rude unhelpful & puts customers at risk
I've used Rinse a few times and the service of pickup/dropoff has been inconsistent but ok. They have lost two of my socks but I figured this is a thing that sometimes happens. However, the last order came back more strongly scented than previous ones and I have now been walking around with a rash all over my legs from wearing pants I sent out in the last order. I have had "hypoallergenic" selected in my preferences since the very beginning and contacted CS asking if they could use a fragrance and dye free detergent as I am allergic to even some detergents that claim to be hypoallergenic including Tide Free and Gentle which once left me calling my doctor for an emergency appt for cortisol because my eyelid had swelled up to the size of a ping pong ball from sleeping ok a pillowcase washed with the detergent. Rinse customer service was dismissive, rude and unhelpful and only repeatedly told me that they do indeed use Tide Free and Gentle as their hypoallergenic option and it is the only option. They are completely unconcerned with their customer well being. Thankfully I only had easy wash and dry items laundered by them and not all of my clothes. Every laundromat and wash & dry I have ever been to in the city has All Free and Clear and most have eco/organic options. They've lost a customer.
