Honestly? Revolutionary. Well above the status crow. I never thought I would leave a review about this app. I’ve had it for months now and I haven’t left one. It is a delightful app but, as stated previously, I do not leave reviews. Then why, you might ask, am I writing this review here? Pray tell, my good peoples, what do you think happened? There was an update, of course. Lo and behold, it is 3am and I am avoiding the dishes so I responded to my penpals and then did the update. Whilst doing so, I decide to read the patch notes, and do you know what glorious phrase I find there? “General pigeon maintenance” and truly I did not know that three words at the end of a patch on an app I use to send penpal letters via bird at the speed of bird would make me laugh so hard you could almost convince me I have asthma by the way I was coughing at the end. Do I know why it is funny? No. Will I now think of the words “general pigeon maintenance” every time my brain does something stupid and I have correct myself? Absolutely, yes I will. So thanks for that…and also this place to perch myself and sing my thoughts for a while! Love the app!! Can’t wait to see what heights it’ll soar to!
Favorite app, wish it had a dedicated tablet version

This app has quickly become my all-time favorite way to keep in touch with my friends! My one complaint is that, because it doesn't have a dedicated tablet version, some of the app's features don't work as intended. For example, if I am using my tablet's attached keyboard to type a letter to a friend or pen pal, I'm unable to create separate paragraphs in the same letter. Because I like to write longer letters, this makes using the app a little more difficult (typing long letters on my phone isn't as easy, and I feel bad sending letters that appear like a "wall of text" to the recipient). Other than this issue, I absolutely adore this app and am so delighted by its existence.
Location selector

Love the app, but there are a few frustrating things about it. The new location selector has potential, but it is very sensitive. It’s hard to scroll through locations without accidentally clicking on one, it took me probably 30 different tries just to scroll through options and select a location that didn’t come up right away in the search options. Also, there are 249 stamps you can get, but the Bouvet Island one and some of the other remote islands are glitched, so you’ll probably only be able to get 247 or so if that’s what you’re playing for. Also, the new location updates created some sort of bug where the app doesn’t recognize certain places that it should have available, so you’ll either get a lot of error messages if you can select a location, or you won’t be able to select a location at all, even if it was a previously available area from past versions of the app.I’ll update this review if a new update changes what I mentioned here
Great Idea, but Full of AI Garbage

This app is an incredible app from a purely functional standpoint. Watching my birds fly around and send messages to my pals is really endearing. I'm socially anxious, but the pen pals are set up to reduce a lot of the usual friction found in other pen pal apps (no photos, no real names, etc.), and the app seems like it'll be less popular to scammers due to the slow pace. I also appreciate how the pacing generally limits the number of times I'm checking for messages each day.However, and that's a BIG "however", this app is chock full of AI images. Every bird, every stamp for visiting a new country, etc. Has been AI generated. You can pay real money for these birds, and now the dev has the gall to charge $50 USD for a "supporter pack". $50. For an app full of "art" they probably spent close to nothing on. I hope the money they raise goes to replacing the assets with ones made by a real artist.As a consumer and artist, I would happily prefer fewer birds with handmade art than hundreds of AI slop birds and snails with feet. Please consider hiring an artist.
