RscMe monitors changes of your heart rate. When your heart is not working properly (exceeding your maximum heart rate or dropping critically low), a text message with your name, location, and heart rate will be sent to your selected emergency contacts.

When you experience symptoms of heart problems, you can immediately check your heart rate on your Apple Watch with the RscMe Apple Watch app.

RscMe monitors your heart rate in the background. You do not have to open the app to use it. Your iPhone just needs to be connected to the Internet (Wi-Fi/mobile) in order to send an emergency message.

RscMe is an easy-to-configure application. You can set up the app within a few clicks on your iPhone.

Scam. Cant use unless you pay them

Update: The developer has commented twice now on my review insisting it is not a scam with the in app purchases. To me this seems like a harassment attempt to get me to delete or change me review. However looking at other reviews that are similar to my experience. I do not see their good faith effort in updating the apps description to include that the full functionality described is only achievable with an in app purchase. Honestly if you want to be honest then just charge the $2.99 for the app. The upfront pricing would prevent these negative reviews.

Deceptive app. They make you think its free but they want 2.99 to use it. Also they want your phone to stay unlocked to use.

Developer Response ,

Hi PsychoDave,

our app is definitely not a scam. In a free version you receive only local notifications in case of emergency. If you want to unlock the full potential of our app (text messaging to your emergency contacts), then you have to pay a small amount (in-app purchase). This covers our development costs and telecommunication charges.

Regarding your iPhone security, we have to comply with strict Apple rules when it comes to your health data. We can access your heart rate only when iPhone is unlocked. When your iPhone auto-locks after 4 hours, then we can not access your health data and no emergency messages will be sent.

I hope I made it clear.

Deceptive in-app purchase system

The “Add emergency contact” DOESN’T MENTION that this is a “optional” feature FOR WHICH YOU WILL BE CHARGED until AFTER the charge is processed. This might be a great app, but in my book THUS CONSTITUTES FRAUD. And the developers protestations the side, the fact is that if you tap the “Add emergency contact” link, Even accidentally, you are immediately charged with no dialogue screen coming up to alert you and give you the option to cancel out of it.

And don’t presume that the app is functional in a limited mode without the purchase. IT ISN’T. The sole purpose of having this app is to notify someone when there’s an issue with your heart rate and IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT DO THAT INLESS YOU MAKE THE IN-APP PURCHASE!!

Developer Response ,

Hi LDMartin, sorry but our app is not a fraud. In a free version you receive only local notifications in case of emergency. If you want to unlock the full potential of our app (text messaging to your emergency contacts), then you have to pay a small amount (in-app purchase). This is clearly stated in the app before you make a purchase. There is a dialog window where you have to approve the purchase or you can cancel it. It is not true you are immediately charged.

Please see this screenshot:

Please request a refund or I can send you money via Paypal. We don't want you to pay for our app if you don't find it a useful tool for a decent money.

Best regards

Can’t set heart rate limit

I have a panic disorder and I’m trying to set it up so that when my heart beat reaches about 120 it contacts my fiancée, however it will not work. False advertising

Developer Response ,

Hi, the high and low heart rate limits are set by the app. We are using medical calculations approved by long-term studies. This is what we advertise. Jan from RscMe
