Run Lines With Me 4+

I use this app every week as a professional actor, and it’s fantastic. My only request is that there would be a feature to run lines at normal speed without my line being repeated back. E.g. how you would normally read lines with someone after they were memorized. It’s the same as “speed through with gaps” but at a regular pace. This way I could use the app to learn my lines and then to practice the scene as I would do it in a performance on camera. Any chance of having this added soon? Would highly recommended this tool to anyone who has to quickly learn their lines! Pro tip get someone else to do the recording with you so that you can be used to hearing someone else’s voice, and you only need to bother them once!

You are not alone in requesting a way to rehearse at regular speed with gaps (but without your lines repeated). Since this was a popular request, a recent update added "Advanced Controls" for subscribers. Look for this by tapping the Mask button in the bottom left, then "Settings" --> "Advanced Controls". If you turn on Advanced Controls, the settings slider on the playback screen will be replaced by two independent pickers; one for how to handle your lines and one for speed. This makes it easy to "Skip" your lines at "Normal" speed.

I’m almost 60 and have a supporting roll in a show I’ve never done before. I’ve been able to record and rehearse all my scenes in order. It’s simple to use and well thought out. I should be off book a week before the required dead line.

There are two things I would like to see improved. You are unable to reorder the recordings and sometimes if your line is at the end of a section and you have that recording on repeat mode it skips it and goes back to the beginning again. However with a subscription rate as affordable as this has the value more than makes up for these issues. I’ll definitely be using this again and again!

Good news: you can reorder recordings. In the list, tap and hold on any recording (or folder) and it will "lift up" so you can drag it to anywhere you'd like in the list. (This feedback is still very helpful as it tells me the feature is not always easily discoverable.)

This is complete silliness. I like the app, but I’m pai once and do not intend to pay again. My IPhone is about out of battery … I need to rehearse lines on my IPad but tried to log in and am only given options for a subscription. Sorry, Charlie. You’re not getting more out of this turnip.

PS I was able to figure out how to transfer the subscription to another device. Thank you for the quick response. I still think it should be made clearer, but this app is very, very good.

Thank you for your review. If you’ve subscribed on your phone, that subscription will carry over to your iPad; you don’t need to pay again, as long as you’re logged in to the same iCloud account. (Look for the “Restore” button at the bottom of the subscription screen. )

Currently, your recordings will not sync over to a second device. That is a feature on the roadmap for a future update.
