The Russound app is the perfect way to control your Russound Multiroom Audio System from your iPhone or iPad. Key Features: *Easy control of any zone *Source Metadata, including album art for supported sources *Access to System Favorites - Create, edit or delete any favorites from your iPhone or iPad. *Supports compatible music services such as Spotify®, Pandora®, SiriusXM®, TIDAL, Deezer, TuneIn®, vTuner®, DLNA and more when used with compatible Russound streaming audio products. Compatibility varies by Russound device. Works with: Any network-connected Russound SMZ-Series, MCA-Series, MBX Series or XStream Series products. Better, but still built in a misconception

This version of the app is much better than previous iterations, however, it’s still suffers from the same core issue:The belief that this app will provide the canonical experience that people will want to control their music with.I get it. It’s hard to spend all the money and take all the time to build an app, all the while knowing that it would best be served by fading invisibly into the background. Thus the temptation to foster the belief that just maybe it can be the app that people will want to use to control their music. Unfortunately, that title will always belong to the apps of which the music is sourced. Anytime we are away from our system at home, these are the apps will be using the whole time. In our cars m, out and about, etc. At the very least, you need to allow the volumes in those apps control the Russound volume. Apple has built in API’s to do just that. However, either the developers of this app don’t know about them, or they choose to not include them. This is a major miss, and a major inconvenience.

Previous versions have been terrible at connecting. You’d open the app and it would search and search and say it was connecting, most of the time finally connecting, but sometimes crapping out. I’ve had this version for one day and it seems to be much quicker so I am hopeful. Will increase my star rating if it works out.

The technician is required to install Russound system. The technician is often required to get this app working properly. The IP address changes without notice. That could be changed, but it takes time and skill. Dealing with it on the fly isn’t reasonable. The app also sits and spins at the worst possible times. Of course, when it works it works as advertised. Russound makes great products and they should be able to make a better, more reliable, easier to use app.

Poor UI / UX. Looks and feels very amateur. After updating app I am unable to select different sources for different rooms. The entire Russound system has been flakey since it was installed 5 years ago. I suggest Russound spend some $ on a new app. Hire pros with designers.

This update adds new ways to personalize and manage your Russound system, along with improvements to playback, setup, connectivity, and reliability. - You can now hide, favorite, and reorder rooms in the Rooms list. - User accounts now allow app favorites to sync across devices. - A new Mini Player makes it easier to control playback on phones. - Alarm and sleep timer status now appear in the Rooms list. - Scheduled events can now stop music playback automatically, making it easy to turn music off at the end of the business day or at any selected time. - First Time Setup is now smoother and more reliable. - Connectivity and overall stability have been improved.
